One thing that I especially like on the G82 is the new rear quarter panel. The smaller side rear window and added width on the M4 adds more dimension and flare to the rear wheel arch.

I'm sorry but the F-gen is better. Can you add the e9x for comparison and repost?

I weighted my F80 competition 6MT with CFRP roof on a professional scales. The weight showed 3600 lbs with full tank of gas. That was on 18 inch APEX lightweight track wheels. You are correct, the gain is about 200 lbs, which is STILL a gain instead of a loss when comparing F80 vs E92. AWD version will add like 400 lbs more I assume. Aren't those huge nostrills supposed to shave some weight?

What's the cause of the huge weight gain which is totally unexpected? I thought Lemetier mentioned a much lower weight. This is seriously detrimental; next, the steering feel?

It's definitely going to be faster but I'm surprised the figures don't reflect it a bit more. For example the RWD M340i is rated at 4.4 while car and driver were able to get 3.8. So maybe this will push into the low 3's but just surprised it's not advertised at 3.6 or so.
AWD and lite mods =high 2's? AWD is a definite edge for 0-60 times. eg: M5

I believe awd on the M340xdrive adds about 120 to 130lbs compared to the RWD version.

Is this reason for the weight gain mentioned anywhere officially?

Actually think the M4 looks worse than the M3. Back of the M3 looks good IMO - fender flares are accentuated and diffuser integration is nice.

The grille is super extra, as is the front bumper styling, so that gives me pause, but the hood cuts are a nice touch.

The M performance parts are laughable. Will have to see it in the flesh - but if manual is a deal breaker for you, there aren't a whole lot of options out there.

yes they almost always under rate performance. I imagine AWD will subtract a few 10ths even with the weight. I wonder if a small hybrid assistance will come before the LCI to help it off the line.

The seats look incredible.

I don't hate it, looks ok

People mention move to Porsche, but I like the practicality of 4 doors and boot space (unless panamera of course)

I don't think it's really fair. They are comparing a pre-LCI non-comp F8x with lots of chrome and base wheels to a blacked out comp package with comp wheels. G8x still looks more modern of course, but I think it will age well.

So, about 500 pounds heavier and about 5 inches longer? So, 100 pounds per inch 🤣

Ridiculous 🤦🏻

But that's where the advantage will end, especially for the track. AWD will likely push that pig over 4000 lbs....with an auto....no thanks!

The weight comparison above is not close to being accurate. The F8x is around 3600, so the weight gain is likely about half of what is listed above. Still noticeable, like a substantial girlfriend, but not like adding both her and her mom.

It's not just weight gain. There is ZERO mention about whether the center of gravity was lowered to provide more visceral driving experience. All I see instead is how much carbon fiber design parts are available so that you can make a JDM ricer out of M3/4.

I think your right. My guess is that it's going to be around the same weight as an F83 with DCT. You can really feel the weight difference between the F83 and its hard top siblings. The all wheel drive will be nice to get the power down, but the bump in power likely won't be a game changer. I'm curious to see how it pans out. I'm guessing if you really want a beast, you need an M5 or M8.

That weight gain is surprising! Still wonder how it's like to drive though, might manage to be just as fun as ever despite the weight gain!
