$3,800 for the Carbon Fiber Bucket Seats
$8,125 for the Carbon Ceramic Brakes
$1,700 for the Driver Assistance Package
$800 for the Parking Assistance Package
$3,000 for the Executive Package

I personally will only be getting the Carbon Fiber Bucket Seats as I think they're reasonable (BMW M reasonable) for the look. The other packages just seem to add weight and unnecessary options for an M. What are your thoughts?

I plan on ordering a manual in the future. And it will include CF seats, Executive Pkg and Parking Assistance (use the surround view camera quite frequently). Even if I were to get the Comp, I would do the same, but exclude the Driving Assistance Pro Pkg. Have it on the X5 and honestly don't use the automated driving functions that much.

I posted a thread that said comparably equipped, the price between Base and Comp is not that much.

I am just trying to reduce weight as much as possible. I plan on ordering the fully forged wheels that are available through M Performance. Are you going to order any M Performance Parts?

So I guess it depends on your specific use case. If you're looking at this as your fun toy. I would wholeheartedly agree and get a basic setup while only emphasizing performance options. However, this will be my family grand tourer. In that case, I want the luxury options.

Regarding M performance options, usually I get the CF options, like I did for my M2C. However, I plan on adding the CF pack, which basically encompasses the previous M performance goodies (spoiler, accents, etc). So in this case, nothing from the catalog. My build is coming out at $88K for the base model. Don't want to be adding anymore for now haha

Executive pkg. for sure for me to get HUD and Laserlights. CF buckets likely but I have to sit in them before deciding.

Once AWD price is out I need to see what the out of the door negotiated price is and US curb weight vs an M5. If both are close, I’m not sure what my decision will be.

In summary the standard options, no cost options, packaging and pricing is a true delight this time. No cost for any wheel option, unheard of as an example. Whomever put this together deserve a big virtual hug not a kick in the nuts like the P-car equivalent...

How can you tell what's standard no cost? You can't read the forms.

Must be. I tried it on my 27" monitor, downloading the files, opening in a new tab and on my phone. From what I can see the F82 Comp starts at $49k

Lol. You’re getting ripped off for the seats. Only $4,000 CDN so about $3,000 US

I have an F90 M5 for my wife. It is a very different car. Even with the new weight of the G8X, the F90 will seem heavy. However, it is unreal how it handles in a straight line. And that is bone stock. Very smooth high torque pulls. If you can afford one, my humble advice is to get one

Not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know the specific differences between the extended merino and full? Is it just leather trim on the doors and a few other areas?

They include a surprising amount of things at N/C. To get your brake calipers painted red on a Corvette is another $500+. Also surprised there is no difference in price for the different wheels. They are more proud of their base price with these models though.

They might show up next March or in July for MY2022.

I was more surprised to find the M3 and M4 Competition models in the same guide while the base 6MT models aren’t here at all. They may be coming in a separate guide but that’s still a different way of grouping them compared to all other M models AFAIK.

Full merino has leather around the center console trim as well as the uppers on the door. I also believe it may have leather on the dashboard, which is great. I would definitely recommend getting them as it really makes it a luxurious place to be. However, if you just want a "track oriented" car, leave that behind because leather is heavy 🥺

xDrive is usually $2K more, so I wonder if that's a safe assumption for the AWD variant next summer.
