So yes they did listened they moved for a change it just wasn't the change that bimmerposts most fanatic members complaining about the grill wanted them to go.

I still cant believe admins haven't shut down the discussion about the grills especially when so many complain posts or rather say whine posts are from the same forum members constantly.

Let me "enlighten" you about the comments.

"Oh noes BMW lost their way"
"Oh noes its a pig nose"
"Oh noes what is BMW doing"
"Well the sale numbers will drop"
"OH NO HOFMEISTER KINK has been changed"

At least people haven't exploded yet about the M-Mirrors being changed can't wait for that s**t show to start.

IF their sales numbers plummets so hard because this car will be such a disaster then i am sure BMW will change their "lost ways" until that these comments are getting older then the age of queen Elisabeth the second, and she is damn old.
if the poll from the other thread is somewhat statistically significant, you're looking at over half of your current customer base being dissatisfied with your new product. sometimes radical changes pay off for a company, other times they don't. will be interesting to see where this one goes but right now it's not looking promising.

I've owned an E90 M3, F80 M3, and now own an F90 M5 Comp... I'm done with BMW after this lease is up. This new ID direction isn't for me.

I bet most customers just decide if they like the new car on it’s own merits and then factor in cost of ownership, dealer and corporate backup and status of the brand. They couldn’t care twat of historic design elements as the hofmeister kink is removed.

Bimmerpost is a scewed sample full of ultra conservative brand obsessive nerds

Well this one is not that bad looking from this view in that color and background.

I am optimistic till the end when I see it.
The 2 series did not come through nicely in picture but in person I really like it.

The M8 concept looked great, but I dislike the real M8 as it just not that good looking. It can be fast but its HUGE and so damn ugly. IMO.

Car prices are getting up there anyhow in 100k, so you got options. If I feel the M4 sucks, it's easy to move 100% to Porsche. Is that a loss? Not really.

World has changed people and so has BMW. WE ADAPT BY MOVING ON TO PORSCHE.

Anyone who has enough disposable income for a $1,000 per month lease payment.

Something like this would have been revolutionary and easier to swallow IMO. THose trying to excuse the designers should take note. They already had a template to play off of. Instead, they just decided to complete ignore this concept and create a shit design.

It would appear that they got their inspiration for horizontal grill slants, after spending a long day at Home Depot, in the window section..

Rumors is that this has the bones of the new M2 which would be awesome. I rather have this and the G8X options available since I like both.

Hopefully iND will come up with some sort of painted grill delete to give us the option for a more traditional grill design.

Absolutely, the design is uninspiring. With what is going on in my country, it just doesn't seem as important anymore. Seeing so much personal property damage is a reminder that they are just things, it does not make me want to go out and get more things at the moment.

It's to deceive the eye that the front grill appears not as high aka bloated fat that it actually is, that going horizontal adds width to the car. It's all about perception.

This photo wasn't taken on the street, probably destined for a private viewing prior to the market reveal. Might be awaiting shipping on a airplane? Appears that Dravit Gray will be a launch color.

Am I too young to go to M5 CS???

Other immediate options - Alfa QF
F80 CS?
F82 DTM?

Just say screw it and join Rennlist- buy 911 GT3 add Ohlins TTX, enjoy great sound of exhaust and not care about big BBQ salt lick grills.

Will wife allow? you ask, well actually I do not need permission.
Your wife either allows it or you have the wrong wife.

You clearly have yourself the correct wife.

No reason to ever compromise.

The talk about replacing or even deleting design elements on a performance car built to be used on the track (and street) before they have been explained by BMW is dumbfounding.

If these elements (bumper design, hood design etc. are functional designs meticulously tuned together with the rest of the car including suspension thousands of hours for optimal speed, stability, cooling and noise levels why on earth would you want to replace them?

I seriously doubt these parts are designed just for looks.

I've been spending more and more time in the mountains; biking and skiing and was using the G80 AWD excuse as a reason to not trade in my F80 and buy another SUV ... seeing the front I legitimately don't think I can use this as an excuse anymore.

It may be time for an X3M or X5M

We have more reason to force ourselves to like the front end. Regular people will definitely hate the front end of this thing, I have no doubt.

I just don't understand who at BMW looked at this and said "right, that's what the M3/M4 should look like." The damn thing looks like a cartoon character. I was hoping this would be the replacement for my E92 M3 but I really don't think I can live with that hideous front end. I think this def breaks the record for the worst M car design.

I think everyone would love this design! Not sure why designers never make the concept version.

The Lexus LC500 is the only one that did.
