easy exit from the G8x series. Newer AMGs are definitely on point styling wise. Will never buy a 4cyl or even a 6cyl AMG for that matter.

Long live the V8

Bingo.

There has been some fear that the G8X by adding AWD and switching to ZF AT would be an M5 like practical and comfortable GT car more for high speed road trips and a status grocery getter.

It now looks like BMW has taking it in the opposite direction by an uncompromising focus on performance not caring if that makes the car less visually attractive (the front is arguably less aesthetic than the G22 and the aggressive aero with the wide side skirts will be seen as juvenile by some) and less practical with the protruding low splitters being prone to scraping. The leaked thin seats with huge side supports and strategic cut-outs adds to the puzzle pieces. Then there are the ring videos always with comments as very planted and very fast.

It looks like the target might not be a practical GT car but a Nurnburgring dragon slayer...

Umm.. that's because it literally is from another decade, lol..

But guess what - because its newer and from another decade, doesn't make it look any better in my eyes.

I'll save my final judgement until I see videos of the m3/m4 or in-person, but the fact those grills are not connected like the 440i, makes it look even more ridiculous.

I'm personally happy.. usually when a new model comes out, there is this itch to get on the most recent generation. I can say with confidence, I don't feel such itch for this car right now. I'd much rather keep my F80 comp and throw a pure turbo on it than drive this abomination. My lease coincidentally expires with the release of the car, I'll drive the "old" car for now! That said, this will be the quickest LCI coming out of BMW and I think they'll address the design. The rest of the car is fine, its just the nose I can't accept- if I wanted an audi, I'd drive an Audi.. or an Alfa Romeo

The f80 reminds me of a shark -- the g80 reminds me of a bull with a fat nose.. I'd rather the shark, but if you're in the camp that likes this design, go for it.. I'm sure the newer technology and better engine/suspension will be worth it.

I REALLY wonder what that piece of paper taped to the windshield says ... "use this car for leaked spy shots only"

Haha

Not a huge fan, but don't hate it. The hood is really what gets me...so plain and boring. Reminds me of earlier dodge chargers with those two indents.

The fish-eyed, close up front shot is definitely exacerbating the grill size. I bet some folks at BMW are having a chuckle at these threads. As in politics or sports, real leaks are generally intended.

Function over form is a smart move. Heavy competition out there.

I think someone left a bag of shit on the design board. If anyone thinks this car looks even remotely good ... sorry don't know what to tell you. But you've been dating 6's your whole life.

Bold AF design this is a hard departure n a hard middle finger to anything in its way. Tuff pill to swallow but rather bold of bmw n that's why I like their vibe 🤟🏼

Here is the thread with leaked pics first revealed from December 2013.
99% LOVED the styling.

Please point me to the thread where ppl were hating on F8x.
They looked great, were crazy fast for that time, lower weight than E9x M3 and had bunch of new CF pieces.
