The grills are ironically coffin shaped. RIP BMW. This is god awful.

Fortunately the M4 hasn't been around very long.

Maybe BMW wanted to kill it.

Mission accomplished

They really do, but I think that's what they want out of the design. They want it to just fly under the radar. I personally think Audi's recent designs are nicely executed. They may not age well(we'll see if they do or not) but the simplicity and the elegance of the smooth subtle lines is something that speaks to some buyers. They could use more flaring of the wheel arches but I can also appreciate the cleanliness of the design. I can tell you from first hand that the driving experience is just as bland and drama-free as the design. Their cars really don't spark any type of emotion in any regard. Buttery smooth and very easy to drive. I do take issue with how much weight is over the front end and the newest version of the sport differential does a fantastic job of trying to hide the weight, but I feel like they're taking the easy way out by trying to hide it or put a band-aid on the problem instead of just designing the car to have the engine behind the front axle to begin with.

Anyway, I think the grille on the M440i actually looks better than this.

This is a nightmare come true. Unreal. When BMW was the dream. Nothing pleases the eye in this reveal. It's unreal how they managed to ruin an icon. It's almost as though they were trying to ruin it..

You know what though? These will sell to many consumers simply because it's different and stands out. People are going to love this car simply because it's different.

I'm thinking support beams for the bumper and kidney inserts.

I agree and warmed up to the M440i overall design and grill.

M4 horizontal double slats looks like window blinds and... And... AND... the grill connecting the lip makes me wanna /tableflip

Hideous !! Wow , its honestly worse in M form. I'm done with BMW ... my next sports car will be a C8 or 911. No amount of aftermarket parts can make that front end look good. Impossible... outside of a whole new bumper & design. And it's not like the car looks amazing from the side or rear , mehh at best . That rear end looks legit like a Infiniti G37 coupe.

Just compare this to the m440 front, they had to make so many awkward changes to the components. For example moving the BmW emblem up. The middle piece is also wider than the m440 I think, making this look way too unproportional

Nope. Lost me. Actually, BMW lost me about two generations ago, if I'm honest.

Can't really blame them, though. I think all cars are going to shit.

The designers and engineers must be blind. 👩*💻 🤮 puke 🤮

This is why I need to work for BMW corporate, so I can fix all the front end design issues. A child could make a better front grille design.

This is the only time when the M version looks worse.

The one time I think a connected grill like the i4 concept would actually have looked more cohesive with the design and not like 2 huge nostrils. What a mess.
