The GTS is definitely already a better sounding 992 than its other 3.0 brothers.

I am getting a tune added today or Monday (building the file for OBD download) and the rpm limit will be pulled.

All due respect to my own G80x--- Flat 6 sound is greater than In Line 6.

dont worry he wiped the fingerprints off
No doubt about it, the Flat 6 is the better engine over the Inline 6 IMO. Such a sonorous exhaust note in any form.

Love it. Maybe it is time to do a 5 lug conversion so you can get the stance setup

Vic55 just out of curiosity...i remember you mentioning a Huracán (I think) and you have the r8 now.

Any particular reason no McLaren?

I saw 3 today, 2 750 (?) and the smaller one (gotta love Miami, always makes you feel poor) and was wondering how you felt about their driving vs the r8 or 911's for road driving as I will realistically never track it.

I'm hoping they hold out r8 production long enough for me to afford one (unlikely), but always loved the McLaren looks (as does the wife.)

Thats a solid question...

While my mind has lurked at the 570S back in the day along with the 600LT and 720S; I never completed the deal. Back when I was looking there was usually 1 or 2 other cars on my radar and those ended up being my choices. I have worked with quite a few Mclaren owners and even did some business as the captive for their lease program so I had some inside details on the quality, durability, and dealer network. So my choice(s) went to Lambo, Audi, and even Ferrari back then.

Now Im not even considering them but they look sooooo good with those doors that swing up and the aggressive lines.

If your looking to afford a Mac, lucky for you they tank in value. Pre-Covid BS of course

Hahaha! It will be a long time and a LOT of luck before I can even consider something in that range. I just like learning about the differences.

Reliability and ease of maintenance are the biggest reason I have always felt the r8 and 911 turbo are the two best options in the category. The r8 just looks even better to me.

Congrats for your newbe! Porsches are always a great choice. But as it's your nineth Porsche, and you decided to keep the M3, tells a lot about how good the G80 is (as a daily car in your case off course).

Enjoy you car!!! I read that you've such a garage! Wow!

Without a doubt the G80 is masterful and is NOT leaving... speaks volumes personally but I am an M Fanboy all day everyday.

This color in the overcast weather is just bold

Amazing pictures and garage and Congrats on the new rides they are gorgeous.

Its pretty awesome to see someone with a wide range of cars have high regard for the G80 as you do. That definitely speaks volumes. I had a 911.1 GT3 a year ago and it got totaled in a huge flood in September in NJ. Since then I had my first kid and the prices sky rocketed. Needless to say since then I have been intrigued by the G80 and the F90 and after seeing the G80 in person it completely convinced me to get as a daily. Hearing someone say they love it even when having a 992 in their garage is the icing on the cake.

Enjoy in Good Health!!

Thanks for the props... The G80 is all that and I had an F90 First Edition from 2018 to 2020 and I would chose the G80 over it for quite a few reasons but mostly because its just a better driver experience than the F90. I still have an F93 M8 which is a beast and a GT Cruiser Crusher but the S58 engine in the G8X just begs to be ripped. Of course those will favor the F90 and I respect that as the faster out of the box car but as a dual owner prior and current, I know what I like to drive more.

Its not about the monies ...

I love that you just said this. I have been curious as to what will be next for me. I love my F90. Best most impressive car I've ever owned, but there are times i just want something "different" and frankly at times i find the F90 a little boring when i compare it to what it could look like! haha. So i've been toying with the idea of selling it and getting an M3 when my lease is up...with CCBs being a must this time. Power only goes so far on street roads so the experience will mean much more i think.

Yes and I stand by it as an owner of both and still having an S63tu in the garage. The F90 does sound better out of the box and its faster to push from dig and roll but thats really where things kind of end for me.

Exhaust mods and piggy back later; the G8X is right there with sound and ooomph but one cant fix the steering or chassis response in the F90. Its just too big and doesnt feel light and nimble while the X drive G80 feels much lighter than its weight. Kudos to BMW for this. Plus with the G8X the cars just appear more formidable in nature; flared hips and yes ... that grill.

My old F90

How do you find the ZF 8-speed versus the PDK.

I have a 991.2 and on test drive, the ZF felt VERY delayed. I hit the rev limiter 3x in a 20 min test drive

I got a ride in the shark blue GT3 on the right around a local (ancient F1) track and I would of absolutely grabbed your GTS if possible, as much as we rave about the BMW G series, the difference between 991.2 GT3 and 992 GT3 is immense !

And yes this a white Black Series owned by the same person and yes he got an offer of double or triple the MSRP

The PDK is noticeably faster but I wont knock the ZF8. The ZF8 just needs to be understood differently in regards to predictability but its not an immense street differentiator. Mind you, I have had over 10 ZF's in my life and clearly the driver is the software or the TCU. Right now I have two ZF8's and they are reasonable on the street as I stated. I am tuned on both my M cars so that might help as boost is on faster but in S3, Sports Plus; the paddle to gear action is not bad.

But the PDK is amazing but so is my DCT in the R8; pull and poof the car shifts up but the PDK is also brilliant at shifting down which not everyone accounts for.
