Glad I also chose Alpine white for mine. I love the contrast with the carbon fiber parts.

Turn on the English subtitles if you don't speak German.
Isnt that just the plastic wrapping on the carbon fiber for delivery?

I was thinking the same thing, when he was signing the floor of his own car. Dude was kind of all over the place, getting in peoples way. I know these people have a set time limit that the chassis is at their station, to get things done.
He is a very known car youtuber in germany, I think even the biggest one and has a very very tight relationship with all german manufacturers, he even saw the Touring and CSL prototypes back then when the M3/M4 was announced, has some special connection to BMW…and it's his car anyway

Just u get some idea of his relationships

- See process and put some last parts on his Porsche GT3 (991)
- See and film whole process and help building his 1of1 Brabus G Class (G800) in the factory
- Driving most secret and never seen concept cars from Audi
- Visiting design studios from Audi, Porsche

He even opened a car museum recently where u see the carziest cars from all manufacturers that they offer him for the expo, changing all 6 months.

His videos offer sometimes very cool insights u normally would never see and I'm sure they are ok with disturbing for some minutes when they know potentially this can be watched by 2,4 million followers
Yeah, I'd think if you can get into the factory, like that, you definitely know someone. The last person I saw walk around the Dingolfing plant, like that, was Shmee150, and he's not even German.

Went up Pikes Peak in an special prototype Audi TT and got over taken by the original Audi S1 pikes peak edition.
He also has connections with Porsche. He's a Porsche technician by education

It might be plastic, but I would be painting mine White after seeing it like that. Especially if my car was white on the outside.
Hmm true
I can't really understand Shmee150 is allowed outside UK….
I bet he will be getting one of those for his garage though…
He was drooling over it in his preview.
Cannot wait for all the on road and track reviews!

I understand his (edit: JP's) appearance isn't for everybody.

But he's not just a youtuber/influencer like Archilles or Shmee, I believe he owns a pretty large tuning business with quite a few workers and knows his engineering, at least compared to regular youtubers; also knows his driving by driving the modified cars on their resident local track. See e.g. the part at 20:00 where he points out design/features of the S58 engine (edit: the automatic subtitle translation isn't really great I have to admit).

He's probably not the best at any of it, but he's pretty good all-around when it comes to knowledge, driving, reach and access.

It is Shmee that isn't my cup of tea. I like JP
Yep if you are talking about JP, I totally agree.
Last time I heard him count it was approx 60 ppl on the payroll . And that's prop 1,5 years ago.
I find him very knowledgeable about a lot.
And what he don't know about, he brings in specialists to explain about, or travel to see specialists on anything to explain things

Alright, I misread you then, sorry.

Though I have to admit to people who don't understand german it really looks like some dork is running around the assembly line joking/fooling around and annoying the workers.

By the way, he also got a tour of the M4 GT3 being built, which is also very informative if you understand german:

Admittedly, I don't watch barely Shmees videos, anymore. I think he's ok. Not as technical as a lot of other channels, but I was more into the channel when he was specing his Senna, and MSO McLarens.

And you're right, I think there's less of an attention span for someone to watch that doesn't speak German. I lived in Germany for 4 years, but I didn't live on the economy, and being on the military base, you may as well be in the US. Nobody speaks German.

There definitely are some great channels out there. Some don't get as much airtime as others. I find myself really enjoying RBR (Remove Before Race) for all of the technical bits he gets into. I think he should have alot more subs. HIs channel is really good.

And JP has always Way more technical info to offer.

Interesting video - thanks for sharing!
SMH at people complaing about JP and comparing him to a trust fund baby who's never needed to work an honest day in his life.

How do you know Shmee is a trust fund baby?

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm just not that interested in the channel, anymore. I do watch alot of AutoTopNL. But, only the cars I think I would be interested in.

Not to be bias, but he just screams toff, doesn't he and whose dad doesn't also own an Aston, lol.
And IIRC he was born into a UK retail empire - Burtons - although who knows what the state of retail is like these days. I could be wrong, maybe someone was joking about the name but that's what I IIRCd.

Like others I find him annoying and don't watch his stuff, just found it funny vis-a-vis someone else who is an actual IRL businessman and not just a social media grifter.

I read up on the Burtons.
Apparently it was acquired by another company that then closed a year ago.
Not saying they haven't stashed something somewhere.
But that was never the point in this thread.
Someone compared Shmee's access to plant floor with JP. As if they had same background of being there.
I think we can all agree, that we rather see JP there explaining what's going on then Shmee simply because JP has more technical knowledge of what's going on.
In general this was never the point of this thread.
Point was to show some insights from the production of the CSL.
I can still be impressed of the versatility in the production line in the plants. They can handle dd models next to limited number special editions.
I've been in dingolfing plant myself and it is very impressive to see the production with the mixed versions on the same line. A visit worth

Great video.. always amazing that:

-these installers can fit every little panel, screw, and many more bits in the right place and at the right time on what is a relatively quick assembly line
-that all the panels line up perfectly on the first shot (you see them just tap/bang with their fists.. nothing special)
-how they ended up putting all the intercooler plumbing on the bottom of the s58. good luck if you ever have a leak (air/coolant) trying to detect or troubleshoot.

Still think the CSL is a cool car... great color combo
