I saw somewhere on the internet (maybe even here) someone comparing the front to the pig from Angry Birds and I can't get it out of my head now.

So, the main designer was talking about exterior paint contrast, all about the contrast, black line that separates light from dark…interior contrast…then they throw a bunch of No-contrast uniform colors…

I think BMW is confused…to put it mildly…

These comments are typical; cut to release of the latest model then they'll fly out of the sales center….

I'am afraid that you're entirely correct. Until now, most concepts where appealing and balanced. In contrast the production version later was at best a watered down version, loosing elegance and crispness. I can't remember a comparison between concept & production, which was not disappointing actually.

While a broad selection of colors is welcome, none of the choices obfuscate the perplexing outlines of questionable design.

Such an opportunity for BMW to make a market leading statement … and the result is firmly in the negative territory.

As it's already super aggressive and distinctive, bold colors are a little too much IMO.
If I buy this car, I'd go with silver, black, or dark blue.

The design is absolutely amazing, btw. It would look sublime on the road.

My 2 cents.

BMW is not doing 'pretty' anymore. They are doing 'distinctive' at the high end, whether you like it or not. The goal is to stand out in a crowded market and to capture high end dollars. Have they gone so far that the design is tacky and crass? The target market for this car will not care.

Pretty does not sell at the high end. The goal is head turning ability. I think they know, especially among 'high end' buyers who will buy this car, that buyers want to stand out. They want something that is evocative. I suspect they are aiming at people who would buy the Lamborghini Urus.

High end ridiculous sport SUVs are a high margin sector and this design will probably sell well.

it will only look good with a redesign.

There is no color combination, wheels or add ons that will ever make this a "go" for me.
F-ugly.

I agree with the high end looking strange and still selling, but I cannot see BMW breaking into that with this concept design. I equate it to Cadillac trying to beat the Germans in performance and losing all their old, reliable buyers, while not gaining any from BMW, Mercedes or Audi. At the high end, the people care more about the name plate, and I don't see BMW as having the cache to charge the $160,000+ for this (that is rumored).

XM or IX the jury (i.e. buyers) have not spoken

Looks a lot better than the IX still needs a little refinement, maybe a lot of refinement.

The side rear is horrendous. BMW has a history of putting out concepts that get refined quite a bit before it gets released. I hope this is the case. But then again, we don't know what BMW is thinking now a days, they seem lost.
I hoping this is like this concept...that eventually ended up as X6/X4

It's ugly in any color! But let see how the real car will looks like...this is still a concept car. I doubt they will be able to keep the small headlight in the front and the "fog" light on the roof, this will probably not pass the DOT et EU certifications

Everyone comments on the grille first, but for me, that's the least of its problems. In fact, comparatively, I don't even really mind the grille all that much. It's the Rezvani Tank vibes that make me nauseous. Well, that, and now I feel like I almost owe Elon an apology for everything I said about the CyberTruck.

Oh, BMW, what I have a feeling you're about to do to the 7er scares me, too.
