I'm finalizing my build on a G81 and may be crazy. I love Sakhir Orange III Metallic but can't find any photos of SO-III. Note the "III". I find pictures and discussion about the previous version of SO but haven't found any information about how the color has changed with the new name.

I doubt that I will find one in real life to see so this would be a crazy leap of faith but on the Individual paint site, it looks amazing to me.

Thanks for any photos or information about what the III means.

I have a G83 on order w/ Sakhir Orange III, if it's *anything* like the individual configurator, I'll be super happy with it, but it'll be a few months before I can post any pictures. :P You'll definitely see them when I get it.

I was wondering the same thing. A google search of the paint code took me to some site suggesting it's the same as previous codes. The thing I like about Sakhir Orange is even though it has orange in the name it can actually look more red than Toronto Red in some conditions. Hopefully SO III is the same.

Loved the original Sakhir Orange on the M6 Coupe.

Hope SOIII is like that. Looks like it from the Individualiser.

Personally not a fan of Sunset Orange, much like Valencia Orange, there's an undertone of brown I don't like.

That's because we're talking about different colors. The M2 came in Sunset Orange not Sakhir Orange.

Reviving this thread, OFlow what color were you thinking for the interior? Trying to decide on an interesting one (not black or white) but not sure which one goes best...

I'm going with black in full leather and the standard sport seats. I think the bright colors clash with the orange exterior so I plan to keep it simple inside. I've driven an M3 with the carbon seats and, while they are surprisingly comfortable (I'm slim), I found the crotch hump annoying.

Makes sense. I hate black interiors though, so I'm trying to find an alternative.

Merino Kyalami Orange/Black might work -- if you want to double down on orange.

Yeah they're a bit different in shade so I think it'll clash too much.

My choice for now is Silverstone full leather, I'll probably be sticking with that.

I attached the generated image from the BMW order sheet the dealer sent me. I think it's pretty good.

After a long wait, the car is here and as beautiful as I had hoped. It has the winter wheels on, which look ok but I'll post another pic once the summer ones go on.

I think the individual color configurator is actually quite accurate. I was worried because I have yet to see any other Touring in Sakhir in real life or on the web.

So if you are thinking about it -- don't hesitate!

SO is a great color, suits the G81 well.

People always asked me "what color did you order" and when I'd say "orange" they would all, instinctively, make a face. They couldn't hide it.

But SO is not your everyday orange. It is a really rich, deep, color that varies in the light. It goes from almost copper in dim light to almost red in sunlight.

I find this variation really appealing. It fits my philosophy: no boring colors!
