Download this chrome add on and than go to your garage. You can see status codes.

Beginning to think "Genius" doesn't mean what we think it means.
I have called 4 times, gotten 4 different answers. One time they were giving me the VIN of 330i...
Been in 112 for just shy of a month now. Not sure if I am week 20, 19 or 18... or even later at this point.

I believe the problem is that people are using “build” week when they should be using “production” week. My understanding is production week is the the week that your car will start production. Build week is the week your car will be complete. BMW Genius wouldn’t even give me an estimate on a build date. They also said you can’t get a build date until you get a VIN. You won’t get a VIN until your car starts production (Status 150). Even then they said that build date is still considered an estimated date of completion.

According to my CA, who I trust more than the Genius number at this point, the date in the system is the estimated end date of production.
I think the problem is, a lot of call center jobs are farmed out and it's just someone who may be contracted for a number of different companies when you get them on the phone.

They log into the system and see something like 18/May and think that is the start date of the build. They also think 18 is the day number, when in fact it is the week number. This had one person on the phone very confused when I kept trying to verify if that would make this a 20 week build or an 18 week build.

Ultimately, I went 150 this morning and have a build date (completed) in the system of 5/5, which would make me an 18 week build.

Now I will say this isn't the case for every person you reach. A couple were very knowledgeable about what they were looking at and could give me a good amount of information. Some others felt like they were looking at the system for the first time.

I was about to respond disputing your claim when low and behold I logged in and saw my car started production today. My build week is next week so most likely it should be completed by then. This is counter to what BMW “not so Genius” told me which was that my car wouldn’t begin production until the week specified in their system which was May 1-7. Clear as mud I guess.

Genius tells you different answers every time. Yesterday I was told production would start May 21st and completed June 4th. Today I was told that my build would be complete May 15th-20th.

If they called it your build week that’s the date of expected completion. Your car should roll down the line 5-7 days prior.

I can relate, this process really showed me how impatient I am... Constantly checking my garage is not helping lol

Was told by my dealer I was a Week 20 build earlier this month. Was just told by BMW Genius my order was accepted 4/6 (ok great, knew that) but I'm not scheduled to start production until 6/24! So....I dunno. Painful wait.

Your allocation may have initially been for May as the month allocation is typically for the following month (6-8 weeks out type of timeline). If you order an individual color which goes through the approval process, it gets pushed out. From my understanding; your order gets entered with status 111 following allocation but with individual options flips to 102 until it is approved by BMW and sets back to 111 again (which is a positive step showing progress of approval for individual options).
Are you certain it is 6/24? Or rather the 24th week, June, which would be very similar to many of us with individual options lumped in build week 24 (or week of June 12th).

This is truly the process to test everyone’s individual level of patience. And it seems many of us find out we are like kids falling asleep Christmas Eve, but over and over and over for 6 months or more.

As our cars are about to go into peodutction. I wonder if it would be a smart idea to switch interior colors last minute. I really want fjord blue interior but I’m scared my car might be pushed to a future week again, and frankly I’m tired of waiting lol.

What color do you have currently?
I was in between fj blue or yas Marina, ended up with yas.

Either way will be waiting, not trying to be a negative Nancy here but looks like people are spending an eternity at port waiting for a ship 🫠

My dealership pushed me away from fjord blue. They said it was an issue to get it - and would slow things down.

More like if you don’t take ownership it’s going to be harder to sell.
