24 M4 discount or wait 25 M3 LCI

Hi Guys,

I am at the crossroad to get a MY24 M4 with 1500 off or wait for a 25 M3 LCI. (Both of them are manual, 3 padels are necessary for me. )

Recent days, I got a 1500 off from dealer about a M4 base with the spec I like. (not exactly I would take but close)
Spec: Brooklyn Grey/ Kyalami Orange/ 825M
Parking Pkg/ Executive Pkg

And they provide to me about my 17 M2 a 42000 trade in value.
(28500mi, Blue, DCT, fully Stock). It is a decent offer in my view.

And I'm also on another dealer's 1st waitlist for the MY25 M3 LCI.

To be honest, I prefer 4 doors. But 4 door is not necessary for me. (I do not have dogs or kids).

I need suggestions. Should I wait for MY25 M3 or get the M4 now?

You might be able to get better discounts on an M4.

If you like the 4-door then stick with the M3. When I switched to an M4 the parking lot door opening and the seat exit were much worse. The only benefit of the M4 was the better over-the-shoulder look at your blind spot (my F82 vs F80 experience).

The M3 also hauls track wheels and passengers easier.

$1500 is basically it. You're probably never going to get lower than MSRP on an M3.

Most are able to get $1-2k off on an M4, but these are basically olive branches from dealers and and not really because they can't sell, they're just sold at less rates than the M3. Some are even having difficulty finding any Ms for MSRP.

As I always say, get what you want. A thousand or two shouldn’t affect your decision making on a $90,000 car.

I haven't shopped around for an M4 to know for sure, but there was a dealer on the East Coast that was sitting on 4-5 M4s last year giving them away at 6-7k discount. That might have been a one off, but it's something to keep in mind. From what I've seen, dealers are more likely to have M4s in stock and those are the ones that might see the biggest reductions.

You are right. If I really like it, I would not be in this dilemma at all. I just worry the M2 trade-in value may drop a lot in next 12 months.

Thanks for this info. Now I think the 1.5k discount is normal and the deal is not such a good one. I did not get out from the crazy market (No ADM is good deal and discount is impossible) during Covid period before this.

I got $1500 off from the dealer and a $500 loyalty discount from BMWFS with my recent M4 purchase. With some localized exceptions, I think the days of ADMs are over.

I had planned on waiting for the MY25 LCI, but convinced myself that the changes would be minor once the iD8 interior made its way through the entire G8x lineup. It's been reported that the LCI will have a minor power bump (15 hp), iD8.5, the 3 series' new halos for the front lights (I much prefer the old ones) and maybe some minor changes to the front bumper and rear lamps. Some have speculated that we'll see a flat-bottom steering wheel, maybe a couple new colors and I'm sure a surprise or two that no one expected. But I don't think the M3/4's LCI will be substantial, especially because we've already seen the G20's very minor LCI.

Funny how things work out. I am about to pull the trigger on a 23 M3 xDrive. They initially said 5k over MSRP, but now they're talking about 2.5k under MSRP including the 500 loyalty. Should I go for it?
