My Custom Order Car showing up on Dealer's Inventory

Hello all, happy Fourth!

Just curious, do dealers usually list customer ordered cars on their way to the stateside on their website as for sale?

I know it's mine because the VIN # matches.

I did put down my deposit, so I think it's unlikely that they are planning to sell it to a higher bidder (I'm buying this at MSRP), but does this sound like something I should be concerned about?

thank you

No concern, it’s automatically listed. Every car coming in is.

Yah this is definitely normal, they will even post real pics once it is at the dealer lol. Happened with my previous dravit grey m340i xdrive order. I have an individual San Marino blue G80 coming (on a boat) and it's already on the dealer website. Probably will have pics once it gets to dealer too

LOL thanks for the answers everyone, I wonder what would happen if anybody approached the dealership about customer ordered cars… like sike, it is listed for sale but it actually isn’t for sale, GOTCHA!

Yeah I can confirm this as well. I was shopping for a M3 a couple days ago and saw a bunch available at local dealerships so I called them. They all said those are all reserved and it’s just how their automatic systems work.

They do this so you come into the dealership to check it out. Then tell you it’s not available but they’ll Convince you to order one or look at another model on their lot.
