Hi everyone!

I signed the final bill of sale for a 2025 M3 last month (yes, a RWD manual one) and thought I'd share my build with you and the tracking process. I've had a 2005 325i, a 2018 M240i and currently drive a 2000 540i. All in manual. I've always wanted a full M car, in individual paint and European delivered (sadly, COVID killed that last option). It really is now or never for one last manual, RWD sedan with a 6 or 8 cylinder engine. I considered the CT5-V Blackwing manual for that crazy V8 sound...but I ultimately chose fit & finish and that M pedigree over the Cadillac.

My spec:

• Individual San Marino Blue Metallic (B51)
• Individual Tartufo Full Merino Leather
• Ventilated seats
• Carbon Fibre Trim
• 826M Burnished with performance tires (hopefully Michelins)
• Black M Compound Brakes (black calipers)
• Premium Package
• M Carbon Exterior Package
• Exterior Colour Contents Removal (Z0T - to get those chrome exhaust tips!!)
• Adaptive LED headlights
• Shadowline headlights
• Universal Garage Door Opener
• Glass sunroof (yes, I prefer a sunroof over the carbon fibre roof lol)

The timeline

-March 18, 2024: first deposit ($2500) paid to secure my spot on the list for a MY 2025 manual M3 allocation. One person ahead of me, but they want an M3 Competition - so that puts me first in line (at my dealer) to get a manual M3 allocation (MY 2025).
-May 29, 2024: 2025 M3s became available for order and I submitted my spec.
-June 26, 2024: got an August allocation. Apparently, my dealer gets M3 Competition allocations every month, but a manual allocation sometimes skips a month. Paid my second $2500 deposit.
-July 18, 2024: got my production number and currently sitting in 'Order Received' in 'Track My BMW'
-Aug. 23rd, 2024: production week 39. Sales rep. mentioned it could change due to the Individual colour.
-Sept. 16th, 2024: production moved from week 39 to week 47
-Oct. 25th, 2024: flipped to status 112 (scheduled for production)
-Nov. 12th, 2024: finally flipped to status 150 and got my VIN!
-Nov. 19th, 2024: exterior body assembly begins (status 153, I believe)
-Nov. 20th, 2024: in the paint shop
-Nov. 21st, 2024: entering assembly line - 8:30 am
-Nov. 21st, 2024: assembly in progress - 10:20 am
-Nov. 21st, 2024: in quality control - 3:00 pm
-Nov. 25th, 2024: awaiting carrier assignment - 7:30 am
-Nov. 25th, 2024: dispatched from factory - 9:15 am
-Nov. 27th, 2024: at the port - 11 am
-Dec. 6th, 2024: in transit - 9 am (got on the Mignon)

It took 4 months from deposit to delivery, at the highest peak of order !

Got a production week! Week 39 it seems (week of Sept. 23rd). My sales rep mentioned it could change however, due to the Individual paint. This is a bit disappointing as I thought August allocation = August production. This means I most likely won't have the car until late November, at best. Incredible considering people are already receiving 2025 M3s over in the U.S.

I also just ordered a base 2 days ago but no individual. Dealer said delivery December with allocation expected sept/oct.

That timeline isn’t bad. I waited 11 months for my RS6, it is Audi Exclusive which is equivalent to BMW individual.

That Aud timeline is nuts. I was also on a waitlist for 10 months but luckily found one in stock last month. Sickest car.

Was just informed that my production week went from week 39 to week 47... I anticipated week 39 could change, but not an 8 week delay...definitely won't have the car until at least January 2025 at this point. Sales rep. assured me that there *should* be no further delays. We shall see...

The delay sucks for sure, but enjoy the anticipation and build-up leading up to it. For me, that experience is usually more fun than the actual ownership of the car. Haha. Having gone through 36 cars in the last 15 years, that's what I have deduced. lol

Finally flipped to status 150 and got my VIN! BMW Canada changed their tracking system - it's now through Connected Drive for customers. Hoping that we get more visibility and that it's more accurate.

I should be able to add the VIN to the BMW app tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have access to the online brochure in the next few days/weeks.

Congrats! Nice build - looking forward to seeing pics when it arrives. The wait is painful but well worth it. I still get a big stupid smile every time I drive my M4!

Oh absolutely!! I've been waiting years to make this happen. As far as I've seen on this forum...only a handful of people have the San Marino + Tartufo combination. If I add 6MT in the mix, I think I might just be the only one

Posting the timeline of my previously ordered car (2018 M240i 6 speed):

• Jan. 22nd, 2018: production completed
• Feb. 6th, 2018: loaded on Glorious Leader
• Feb. 23rd, 2018: arrived in Halifax
• Mar. 17th, 2018: arrived at Concord
• Mar. 20th, 2018: arrived at dealership (Budds' BMW Oakville)
• Mar. 23rd, 2018: picked up the car

Speculating for the M3, as things stand...

• Nov. 23rd-25th: production completed?
• Dec. 10th: loaded on 'Morning Charlotte'?
• Dec. 19th: arrival at Halifax?
• Jan. 9th: arrival at Concord?
• Jan. 13th: arrival at dealership? (Budds' BMW Oakville)
• Jan. 17th: delivery???

I'm actually hoping for a January 24th or 27th delivery, as that aligns better with my schedule. And it may happen! Delivery is estimated to be the 4th week of January in the dealer's tracking site.

Various delays should also be accounted for:

• Quality control delays
• Weather delays
• Vessel delays
• Christmas/New Year related delays
• CN Rail delays
• Hansen delays

In transit and on board the Mignon! Should be in Halifax Dec. 13th! Hopefully it gets loaded on a train to Vaughan (Concord) relatively quickly and arrives Dec. 20th…that would be one crazy Christmas/end of year gift.
