god awful commercial. I would have let the car speak for itself, the accolades, and then the BMW M director come outta the car. Just sounded awful.
Anyways, 240lb diet is no joke, but just doesn't have the looks to back it...

Looks like a decent option, if you have the coin to throw down..
Someone here had mentioned the taillights are "laser lights" based and everyone ridiculed him (and rightfully so) but it looks like he has the last laugh.. Interesting.. 😗 Edit: It's not OLED like previously mentioned but "laser wire" lights (weight savings).. I'll leave it there until I learn more on what that exactly means.. |

See my post just above yours. The difference is in the length of the lap that's reported. The 20.6 km lap is the older distance. Now everyone reports both the 20.6 km and the 20.832 km lap times.

Markups will be insanity. Weak lap time as well, not that it will matter as most will end up sat with 10 miles in a warehouse.

Absolutely love it…
Less weight, 1 piece seats, ducktail, serious carbon bits, rear seat delete, nice styling changes, etc. well done M-division. No stupid iPad dash & no Xdrive. Bound to be a future collectible. Can't wait to see one in white.

The M4 xDrive posted a 7:28. to the M5CS 7:29. The standard xDrive M4 Comp is 1 sec quicker than the M5CS.

I like the fact that BMW create some track-focused cars.
But when you think about it, the CSL achieves about the same lap time as a Corvette C6 ZO6 (with z07 package) did in the Nürburgring, in 2012, for less money, with a manual gearbox.. Not exactly a great value or achievement IMO.

I dunno. As someone said above, probably not hardcore enough for me. I was hoping for a half-caged, harness etc.
Good luck getting one, I reckon it'll be $300k AUD over here in Aus. Eeek! |

I wouldn't compare this car to a GTS, but instead more of a lightweight and aggressive G82.
Focus on weight loss, and keep the setup simple for road and track fun. No need to adjust ride height/dampers/wing/splitters... If you take it in that regard then it makes more sense as a CSL. The E46 version was the same - never meant to be a track rat.. but a more aggressive lightweight version of the base car that you can enjoy trashing around. |

I'm mixed. Part of me loves and it part of me thinks it's over stylized. I don't know how I feel about the red accents. I know the blacked out theme is reserved for comps but I prefer that look.
Curious to see what the markup will be now that the stock market / crypto market took a dump and no one has money anymore. Even if it's $10K - this car at $150K feels like a lot |

That's surprising, they all have a pretty noticeable impact vs stock IMO. Not much difference in shifting at WOT + redline, big difference everywhere else. Also, GTS suspension tune doesn't exist.
