Some condensation is expected…but I would say that is too much.
Often they gonna measure how long it takes to completely get dry…i think they measure like 18h after raining it should be dry, if not it's replaced.

I have mine since March 21 and daily it, in heavy rain or even during winter they have never looked like in your pic.

BMW issued a service bulletin May 9, 2022, regarding excessive moisture in the headlamps of M3 sedans, M4 coupes, and G2x 4 Series produced before March 2022. Bulletin # 63 02 22 prescribes replacing headlight vents (both sides) with updated parts if excess moisture is present in one or both headlights.

I took my car in Monday morning (coincidentally, in a heavy downpour after driving through a few puddles). Parts arrived today and are awaiting a technician to perform the install.

I had a similar problem when I had to drive through some low level flooding. It was in there for about 1.5 weeks. I took it to the dealer and they said it just needs to dry out. Eventually it went back to normal, but it effects the headlights and looks awful.

Any streaking leftover inside after it finally dried out?

Mine's fully dried out with no evidence (spotting or streaking), thankfully.

Aventurin Red Metallic. Yea, I am getting old. Was doing some of the wrenching when some were still in diapers.

Not normal, may take 1-2 weeks to evaporate (less, if you run with low beams on).

See my post above about service bulletin # 63 02 22 regarding redesigned headlight vents, then take it to your dealership to have them order and install the parts.

I would consider excessive. There's a few runs in the Left headlight. Nearly the entire inside lens is covered in a fine fog. Definitely a dealer visit. Condensation is only normal if only in small patches typically around the corner of the headlight. No runs whatsoever.

I had pretty bad condensation in my headlight (see pics). Before the condensation happened I had installed air inlets, which requires the entire bumper to be removed. After the condensation I took it to the dealer and they said they will charge me $650 to remove the bumper and inspect for any damage. I refused to pay and ask them for the reason for the charge. They said "after market accessory installed and PPF on bumper." I told them none of this makes sense. The SA wouldn't budge. I said whatever. After a week the condensation went away but I was left with nasty stains inside the housing from the dirty water.

Instead of going to the SA, this time I reached out to the general manager and service director of the dealership. I complained and told them how ridiculous the tech's reasoning sound. The service director replied and said he'll cover all costs and let them inspect the headlight again. Took the car back in and they had 5 techs looking at my car plus the general manager. They finally admitted the headlight needs to be replaced under warranty. Now I'll be getting a new headlight.

For anyone who has condensation built up. Make sure to inspect for any left over stains.

Yeah, thats some shit. Blame the PPF install on the headlights leaking.

Can you imagine how many ignorant people fall for that shit?

Yeah, there's no way. I posted yesterday about getting duped out of a transmission in my 20s. Which was like 27 years ago, and never again. I drove my civic into the dealer, they took my trans apart and basically it looked like someone threw a Grenade in and just closed the case. Broken shift forks and synchros. Well, I drove it in there and towed it out with the transmission in the trunk, after they took it apart and refused to fix it.

I had a friend take his car back in for a detail, because he'd purchased the car in the rain, and the dealer promised to re-Detail it when it stopped raining. He brought it back 2 days later with 80 miles on it, and they used some wheel acid on the windows. And the paint on the sills bubbled and rusted. He didn't want it fixed. He wanted a new car. They laughed he went to Channel 3 on your side and the went down to the dealer swinging TV cameras and he got a whole new car.

Sucks that happened to you with your transmission.

Good on your friends part taking the news crew to have those assholes exposed.

Now a days with social media you can't hide anymore. I threatened my home builders by telling them I'll expose you guys on social media if you don't get certain things fixed and they were on it as if the orders came from the president.

That's about what it takes. I was 20 when the transmission happened. Never again. I went to the junkyard and just got a $600 trans out of a wrecked civic and put it in myself. Today, though, I would be fighting. "I drove my car in here. I'm not towing it out."

Hi all,
I had the same issue past week or so. Took the car to the dealer and they completed the SB as mentioned above. It took about 7-8 days for the condensation issue to be resolved. I am living in Miami so you can imagine the humidity and rain is a part of our lives here. However the dealer did say that if the issue comes back and becomes excessive again i need to take the car back and they will start the claim for replacing the headlight.
