My G80C is at 13k miles, KW HAS, verified good alignment. KWs have been on since January, approx 4K miles.

I've been chasing a front end knock for nearly 10k miles now. Now adding this to the list. Fun.
Does your knock come through the steering wheel?
Sure does!

I've been chasing this down since summer of last year. It really comes out in the warmer months (I'm in Virginia).
I've actually noticed the same in my car, have you had a dealer visit?
Here's the thread I started last year, has some recent updates, and where my sights are set.

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1850816

Last fall, the dealer replaced the front left upper strut mount. Was good through the winter. But came back once it started warming up.

Yeah mines absolutely over top now

My oil is due, so I'm going to go back to stock and take it in. I won't let it leave until it's right.

If not it's got a lemon case coming it way

I put KW HAS on my M2CS and would notice some driveway speed turning clicking also.

Been there done that.

After modifying my M3's for nearly two decades, one thing I learned is that suspension mods always (and I emphasize ALWAYS) result in increased NVH. There is no way around it.

You will hear (and feel) all sorts of sounds, including clicks, rattles, squeaks, etc.

BTW, I had pretty much every suspension system out there. Everything from KW (v1, v2, club sport), Moton CS, AST, TCKline, Ground Control, Ohlins, and probably some others I can't recall. This was back in my e46 M3 and e36 M3 days.

Now, many folks will convince you that they hear no such noises. They will swear by it. Vendors of these systems will do the same. They will tell you that it's quiet and there's absolutely nothing to worry about. And that if there is noise, it means it wasn't installed properly. But it's all horseshit.

While most suspension mods start out quiet, eventually they all develop squeaks and rattles. Some worse than others.

One thing to keep in mind is that we've evolved with different sensitivities to these noises. Some folks hear them loud and clear while others don't, even if the noise is present. Then again, some hear them and don't care (I wish I was one of them).

If you're anal about having your car dialed-in and nvh-free, then it's always going to bother you. Sure, you can correct it to some degree by reseating components or adjusting them, but over time, the noise will return, either in that same area or another. It's inevitable.

I've witnessed all of this first hand for many many years. Not trying to discourage anybody from modifying the suspension. Just sharing my experience. You can learn from me or learn the hard way.

My advice: if you want your BMW nvh-free, leave the suspension stock.

Valid point, my first time lowering a car and my fear is will it put undue stress on another component. Good to hear a another perspective from someone with experience.

Unless lowering damaged something, I suspect going to stock will immediately resolve the issues.

Ive lowered every M3 Ive had (7 now) and only two "clicked". My F80 did and it was install error. A bolt had to be retorqued. The G80 Ive only had the install shop look at it with no resolve so far.

All the other BMW's Ive had on KW HAS (or V3's once) did not add any more road noise nor did my shocks or tires wear out sooner or anything like that.

I dont slam my cars to the ground though. I like 1 finger gap. Not tucked.

Going in this week for a rattle in dash and install my oil cooler guard so he will reinstall right side and retorgue rear bolt and hopefully resolve my issues. I really like the way it looks lowered and handles. Don't cre for slammed look either.

This is more for the front end noise? I actually have narrowed mine down to the passenger rear. It's intermittent and I also had my car looked at and mechanic said install was ok.

One of my buddys is a tech for Sherman oaks bmw and says with spacers you need quite a bit more torque. He recommended the 125 and said he does it for cars pretty frequently.

I figure the hardware future classic sells is pretty high quality so I believe I'll be fine.

I'm just so happy it's fixed man.. it's literally like driving a new car where I can actually cruise with the windows down and park without people looking at my car like "wtf is wrong with that thing"😂

No way. Thats awesome. It really is so annoying and broken sounding. Ugh.

Im too scared to use that much torque. Now Im going to remove my spacers and use factory torque to see if it solves my clicking.

I will report back what I find out.

OP - you sure it's fixed? Manual states 101 ft/lbs and 125 is a lot.

Sounds fixed.

I just txt him saying BP is trippin and he said "tell those cucks to cool it.. I'm sure there all master techs" 😂

He said do you really think bmw would only leave 24 extra lb of tq on the table with their hardware?

And the 125# is only for cars running spacers otherwise stick to 101

M12 bolts are rated to around 100ft/lbs but m14 can take much more depending on grade, some specs say upto 160ft/lbs.

Which bolts does the G8X series have? M12 or M14?
