You may be able to source the fronts in the US, but some have found these can be tricky to find.

First question:

Tire rack and other shops I called said I can take the stock rear comp wheel 20inch that's comes in the 285/30 tire into a 275/30 tire. Is that true? Can you place the stock wheel into a 275 wide tire even though it currently sits in a 285 width?

Second after a ton of research I found that the Vredestein Wintrac PRO is the best winter performance tire to keep the stock wheels! Anyone have any experience with them?

Also I plan on changing the setup to me stock front so 275/35/19 and rear of 275/30/20 so to my first question can I place the stock 285 wheel in a 275?

Thank you so much!

Does anyone here have experience with the Pirelli "PZero Winter" model? That's what I'm leaning toward based on guidance from the dealership but I can't find many reviews on it. Seems to me this is Pirelli version of Michelin Alpin

I think tirerack is trying to push the Vreds a lot but it is still a good tire. I dont know if you can mount the 275 on the oem 285 width but 10mm doesnt too that much but u might have to confirm with them. In terms of the 275/30/20, it should be fine as the rolling diameter is 675 mm fronts vs 672 mm rears which are close and should be good

Okay one person said now since something about a ration of stock set up being rear tires were bigger by 0.4% and with that's proposed winter set up said it make the rear ration smaller by 0.4% which is bad and it's even worse with an xdrive car which is what I have … I don't know what any of that means … I have some damn hw to do

I read from another thread, you are allowed a max of 1% difference and the Xdrive should be Ok. Now im not a mechanical engineer and so cant give u a concrete answer but if you are really worried about sticking with OEM, just go with the PA5 or DWS06 if u can find them. The goodyear exhilarate is also a good one and appears to be in stock at tire rack. Maybe its better to keep it the same spec. Otherwise, u might have to get the BMW 829 OEM tire and wheel package that migh run about $4300

Weird.

I'd drop them a note and ask. They are very responsive.

Yea I did.
Did you end up getting new rims for the tires? Or you just kept them on the OEM 826Ms?

I bought a set of the CSL (827M) wheels to run in summer. Will run the 826Ms for winter.

I see! So I spoke to Paddleshifterz: They said they can no longer do the dhl eco and that they made a mistake with offering that as DHL does not allow them to ship the tires anyway but express for $845.00

Brutal. I was about to order these today. I almost did last night when you could still get the Economy shipping but fell asleep before I did. UGH - back to the drawing board. I will try and find something locally I guess.

No negative anything meant towards PaddleShifterz, btw. It's not them at all (just to be clear).

Ah, bummer.

You might try and see if you can find the fronts in the US...then you're only shipping 2 tires from Germany.

Hopefully something pops up in the coming months for a winter tire on oems. I wonder if dealerships can do a "part" order from Germany....

I called tire rack today and no options for stock rims. Had the same response for Darien parts department. Never had this issue with stock rim size before.
