Hello,

I'm looking for a place to get my brakes done. I do not have a G80/82 but instead a G07 (x7). However, I found this forum thread as being a source locally (I live in Manhattan) and thought I would ask.

I know, from talking to wholesalers and parts companies that the parts for the brakes for my vehicle is $650 for the front and $550 for the back brakes. Yet, BMW is charging me $1700 for the front and $1400 for the rear to replace / install new brakes.

Are there any trusteed Tri-State area mechanics that do great work and are trustworthy that you all recommend that won't price gouge me?

Their website states 225 per axle for labor, and can probably order parts at wholesale price for you as well.

I’m sure there are ones closer to you as well, but I remember seeing their brake special

Bimmer clinic/maximum psi. They do all my BMW’s. They just replaced my brakes on my X4. No problem at all and it was 600+ cheaper than dealer quote

Autocraft in Uniondale, N.Y. (Long Island)
MLife AutoCare in Valley Stream, N.Y. (also Long Island)
M PowerHouse in Mt. Vernon, N.Y.

I have personal experience with every single one of these shops within the last decade (except for MLife, but Rick is well known and can do anything) and any of them will be able to do virtually anything you throw at them with regards to maintenance and oddjobs/mods.
