BMW Z3 ///M Coupe V10 (S85) build
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Even though there is no Z3M forum at bimmerpost, I hope some of you are interested in my new project. David said I may show my Z3///M V10 up here, thanks for that David! Just before I finished my E46 M3 GTR build, I was thinking of my next project car which should merge my love to the Z3///M and the strongest NON turbo blown engine, the ///M GmbH ever constructed. Since I already own a S54 Z3///M Roadster, the mission was clear: BMW Z3///M V10 S85 Coupe The basic for my project: So get out of here, old S54: And go for S85! Manual transmission from the US M5, for classic Z3M feeling Original M5 oil and water cooler Big brakes with Movit calipers and special 365x34 rotors As the brakes doesn't even fit my old 18" BBS LM, I got some BBS E88. I love them!!!! Because there was some trouble with the steering rack, Jäger Metall welded a whole new exhaust system for me. 42mm (instead of 38) long tube headers, original cat and nice silencers: gear oil cooling under the left headlight: Time to put some wires in there! It's taking shape! Hope you like the build Still some time to roll out, but I will hurry up kind regards Fabi |

I'm shocked at how well that fit in there! Was there any extensive trimming/modifying?

Yes, some trimming was needet...
Steeringrack was replaced and reconstructed with E46 parts, some work on the chassis was necessary, motor and gearbox supports are all new constructed and many more. Sorry, it's a little bit difficult for me to describe all the work in correct english |

The rear subframe is very well at the moment, although I'm sure I have to reinforce it anyway. But that's a job for the very best body manufacturer I know, Markus Schaufuss here in Germany.
My aspiration was to get the engine in the car, without change it's outer contures. It should look like every other Coupe with nice wheels Thank you very much for your interest and enthusiasm! Videos will follow as soon as the car is fired up the first time! I'm looking forward to this soooo hard!!! |

Amazing. I had a 2007 M6 and a 1996 Z3 so I can only imagine the power.
What's your 0-100 time?

Not that I don't like this project, but you offered up a s54 z3 coupe?!?
You know how many of those are made? Why not a S50 coupe?

And that's why I did NOT offer up an original S54 Coupe. It was an 1999 S50 Coupe with an absolutely disastrous S54 engine retrofit. So I was happy to rescue this Coupe with a clean and professional S85 swap |

You put a 500+hp 5.0 Liter V10 in a little Z3 ?! Bonkers build. I'm excited to keep up with it!

jep, and I hope there will be much more then 500HP
Long Tube headers, cat delete, electronic power steering pump instead of mechanic and Alpha-N mapping should create some power |

Fantastic!
The S85 is my favorite engine of all-time. Please keep us posted with more photo's and video's...this is very interesting. I can't wait until you start generating performance times with it! Cheers-mk |
