I think you are somewhat in the ballpark. It will resemble the I Vision Dynamics according to Scott.

Scott26:
Quote:
"Also though the false nose cone you can see the full length twin kidney grille, octangular in outline similar to Vision iDynamics and the hook nose in the centre which also doubles as the bonnet catch.
The licence plate will feature within the middle of the kidney grille. It is aligned with two side intakes heavily contoured which we will see first in the all new 3er scultuped into the actual bumper itself.
Unless it's the M Sport to which the intakes will be suitably larger for more cooling.

The new 4er Coupe has also begun to test and its a matter of time to see how that in essence becomes more of an 8er outline and more sportier and dynamic than before.

As which will be beneficial to the next M4 Coupe.
The new 4er is controversial in its execution. But heavily influenced to be a more prominent sports car. Personally I think it looks great."
The part I wasn't expecting was the horizontal slats. That is an Audi thing.

I originally had it bigger, but it looked so ridiculous I couldn't believe it'd be that big. So then I thought maybe the black mesh is larger than the actual grill.

This is the one I thought to be too big to be serious, but who knows.

I think this is the closest if we get separated kidneys. I also think that can look good with matching design of the rest of the front.

I hope the i4 type of grill is smoke and mirrors cause I have a lot harder seeing that looking good. It works without a grill as on the i4 to create a sci-fi look but with grills, it’s scary. Scott26 said we should be scared though...

Ohh well time will tell, but for sure it will be faster than the F80.
If anything makes sense could be some cues from the 80s bmw's w a modern take w i4 grills.

If anything I hope its fast and that it can be modified easily. After which the next few will be hybrid to electric afterwards.

Future is electric.

Does not look so bad actually. Wondering if the kidneys are connected or separated, as the number plate will be in the middle. Connected (as per your drawing) would fit better, but come on a bmw should have two separate kidneys! However then, the number plate would ruin the whole front as I can only imagine...

This looks promising actually.. I don't know how they'll do the lower intakes, especially if they're to keep the /----\ style middle intake like current M cars.

It doesn’t look bad because the grill is not there...just the frame as the i4 which also look good. Color the grill area black and it will look quite awful. There is a universal solution for ugly grills though...blacked out grills on a black car. Bmw better stock up on Black Sapphire Metallic if the kidneys aren’t separated.

I agree, I'm hoping it's not the i4 grill. I'm hoping that BMW will know it's the worse looking design of the two. The way the grills are connected and then extend the middle part on the top and bottom makes it look like a beaver.

I agree the design has a chance.... one element thats harder to emulate in the renders is that the top of the grills on the i4 concept are raked a bit which adds more of a streamlined look, i think if that carries over the design could be distinctive in a good way.

There is a clear shape to me around the grill which might contribute to the overall design. I personally think a big grill in the middle has to integrated into a design otherwise it will look odd.

Agreed, though the swirls are so damn effective in making everything look 2D.

Good enlargements of the grills though, it definitely looks like they are separate kidneys in those pictures. The horizontal lines in the grills end well before the midline swirl stripe in what looks like a kidney frame...or is it just my wishful projection...
