I would like to say backing in to park is WAY easier since you have mirrors/cameras to back in… but some still can’t seem to park between the lines or aren’t even straight. Why?

I've been driving for 36+ years. I was given proper defensive driving and car control training from day one. I've been on tracks at high speeds more times than I can count (in the past, I don't really track anymore). I'm more than willing to do pretty much anything in any car going forwards.

There's SOMETHING about going backwards that has always caused me issues. I get more nervous backing in between two parked cars than I do going forward at any speed. Thanks to the cameras, I do a good enough job at it now but I still do not back in if I can help it. Oddly, I don't get the same bizarre nervous feeling when leaving a parking spot in reverse.

Honestly, I think it all comes down to the fact that my alien masters just didn't build me right.

Also, despite how little attention most drivers pay to, well, everything, I still also think it's better for your reverse lights to be visible to oncoming traffic when you're leaving a parking spot.
