Is it possible to make the brakes (non-ceramic) on our G80s less "grabby" at low speed when changing the pads?

It's a tight fit in my garage, and easing the car in to just the right spot is incredibly difficult (and jerky), not to mention the difficulty of simply stopping smoothly. I find myself pining for the feel of the M-Sport brakes on my F34 (with Porterfield R4-S pads).

Based on my limited research, a more progressive pad should help with this, right? Are any of the usual suspects (EBC Redstuff, iSweep 1500, Carbotech 1521) more progressive than the OEM pads?

Ebc reds have less initial bite, easier to get into a tight garage.

For my own education: will pads definitely solve the problem? Low-speed "grabbiness" is not a brake system issue?

I also have a tight garage but after years of dealing with cars with mushy brakes, I can live with any low-speed jerkiness in exchange for the better brake modulation and feel at every other speed.

I too have a very tight garage and run my brakes in comfort. I at first disliked the long pedal feeling as I came from Porsche PCCB's which were like a light switch. In the 4 months I've owned the car I've gotten used to the longer travel and enjoy the ability to modulate better.

I've got no issue with "grabby" stock pads in this configuration. Suggest switching to comfort and if you already are, a good bedding session.

I have. Didn't seem to make much difference to the brake feel. (But I'm still babying the car, as I haven't hit the 1200 mile break-in service yet.)

Could be your parking brake cutting in. Turn off auto hold. I have no issues with brake grab at any speed. At slow speeds ok unless i stop and this engages. Takes a bit to persuade it to let go on accelerator.

IS1500 and you’re done…
No break in period.
Almost no dust.
Slightly softer initial grab.
And ceramic pads last forever if not tracked, just used for street, highway, or rolls.

I second iSweep pads or comparable. I run the 2000 pads and they are much easier to modulate at low speeds than stock, the significant reduction in dust is a big perk too.
