Good coat of high build primer. The cold today is slowing the cure time.
It’s going to be tomorrow before I can sand and paint.
With superbowl tomorrow I probably won’t finish.

This is the first car I’ve ordered where I check a bunch of boxes and the car showed up 97% done.

I guess it was 80% done…

Thanks. This is how #BUILD threads used to be.

I thought I would start on the exhaust tonight, but taking apart my paint booth took longer than expected.
I started installing the cooling shroud, but the clear is still too soft.
Good news is the Gold is a perfect match to the calipers. The shaded caliper and lighted brace make them look different in the picture.

I’m sure some are wondering on the gold STB choice. The factory color is silver. There is nothing silver on the car. Toronto Red has gold pearl in it. That’s why it has the orange hue in certain light. Gold is the perfect accent color for TR.

I got a couple hours this AM to start the exhaust. Taking the family to lunch and then see the Bob Marley movie.
I pulled the muffler to paint it black. I found they have some tabs welded to the pipes to prevent adjusting the tips. I’m going to be cutting those off. They stick out about 1/4” or so more than I think they should. It’s personal taste.

I noticed the resonator only had about 1/8” clearance from the heat shield. So I pulled the mid pipe and tapped the shielding closer to the body.

I cut the tabs off and washed the muffler for paint.

I’m just waiting for it to warm up now. To paint it.

We got home from the movie and I painted the bumper with header paint.
I installed my Mishimoto cooler guard while waiting for paint to dry.
Biggest pain was having to remove the splitter. Redoing the body tape sucks. It takes forever to scrape that tape off!

Crazy how this exhaust design kills the ///M design itself.
Very nice build and mods but the exhaust I just can't...

Exhaust is done. I was able to move the tips in about a 1/2” more with the tabs cut off. I like it better. The SST valve controller is done. I put the SST in the battery compartment area. I Installed the RB Performance brake pads and titanium wheel studs.
I mounted the Match Amp. But I need to get a longer power wire tomorrow to complete the install.

I love how you taped and created your own mini paint booth in your garage!

Can you share the details on your lift setup? (Manufacturer, model etc.)

Thanks!

Thank you. I do the same thing when I have to work on engines. One is to keep the dust contained the other is to keep it out.

My lift is a Dannmar. Dannmar sold the design or rebranded it because the exact same lift is now called MaxJax.

https://www.maxjax.com/

It's really nice to have. About +/-8 years ago I decided I was too old to roll around on my back. Even the tallest jack stands are too low to really do any work easily.
I started looking at scissor jacks (which are still too low and bulky) and found these portable lifts.

There are steel anchors you drill into your slab. You do need to make sure the two position spots are level and at least 4" thick. This house I had to have a 1/4" shim made for one post.
My last house the slab was only 2 to 3" thick. I had to cut out two sections and pour footings. Easy for me being an Class A General Contractor; not so simple for others.

I finally got the amp installed and working. I need to get a custom tune done. I have an appointment next week for that.
My advice is get the Alpha One. All the set up is done for you.
