Bleeding coolant

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Afternoon everyone,

Replaced my oil filter housing today as it was cracked and leaking coolant.
Filled up the system but coolant temp got to 108 degrees and thermostat wasnt open as coolant pipe was cold. Undone the coolant cap and it’s was extremely pressurised so I’m suspecting the coolant system isn’t bled fully, is there a certain way to bleed it? It’s a 118i b38 engine

Thanks

I would burp it (run engine until up to operating temp, then carefully open the reservoir cap) a few times and top up with coolant each time.
