Well they quoted me for over $2,100 for part only. $1,790 for the kit and the extras are 'required hardware'. Not sure why that would cost that much but that is not happening

Just got confirmation from my SA that he was able to add it to my build! Great call on having them contact their BMWNA representative. Think that did the trick. I guess another plus of going this route is that it’s added to the sticker.

It’s been talked about in this thread, but, I also realize it’s difficult to go back 30 pages and understand what’s going on.

The “required hardware” is only if you’re going to get the springs installed at the dealer, because they remove the whole upper, and lower control arm assembly. Scroll back through the thread until you see the pics of the entire hubs removed. That’s how the dealer does it by the book. There are a few one time use nuts that should be replaced, if you’re going to have a local shop do it. Theyre are some parts that should only be torqued once, because reusing them, could possibly lead to them coming loose. They just lose that sort of “self locking” feature. But this hardware isn’t more than $10-$15.

One of the parts they’re also talking about is the tool at the 11:00 minute mark in the video in the original post. None of this is required. I would suggest relaxing the one time use hardware so it doesn’t come loose over time.

Thanks! Are any of the one time use nuts specifically for the front suspension if only doing springs.. for example Eibach front springs?

Had SVbimmer do the install with alignment for $850. They dropped the car a half inch or 10mm. I can’t remember what he said. Install took about 5.5-6 hrs with another 45min- 1hr for the allinment. Didn’t want a super aggressive drop as the roads here in central cali are complet garbage with pot holes everywhere. I am over all pleased with the drop and service and customer service of SVBimmer. Have about 300 miles on them so can’t really comment on the overall ride yet. I will post some pictures this next week. 😬

I told SVBimmer to set it to what ever they recommend as I didn’t want rubbing and a super aggressive drop. They drop each spring 2 turns and there is 2 turns left. I believe he said it was a half inch drop or 10mm all the way around i can’t recal. Not sure where they got the numbers as the kit didn’t come with instructions but came with the fancy m performance suspension installed sticker 🤣

The instructions don’t come with the kit, because they’re in BMWs online system. I uploaded the PDF early in the thread. I’m glad they were able to get you sorted.

Sorry Skyscraper, I missed your post. Performance Technic in Fremont, did mine. At the time it was about $1,230 with the one time use parts and an alignment.

But like M4.tim said, he got SVBimmer to install his for $850. Either place does a quality install. SV has a video of them installing a set of KWs on a G80, so, we know they have experience.

Plus, I know of at least 10 people that have gone there for their G80s. And that’s not counting all of the people I don’t know who have gone. Which I’m sure it a lot more.

Will BMW warranty cover any potential issues with other related parts if suspension install was done by a third party ie, blown strut)?

The rest of the paragraph may have some merit.

Am I seeing correctly that the Baum price has gone up, site currently down for maintenance but it was like 1343 euro = almost $1500? Or does the price change after adding it to your cart?

No, that’s the problem with the thread being so long. Information gets lost. You have to change the shipping to “versand nach” to international. That removes the 19% European VAT. Make an account and login, that should remember your shipping area. This pic is from right now.
