Accessing drive recorder files on MacOS

Ive been messing with Drive recorder lately figuring that if I have it, I might as well put it to full use and know how to use it in case I ever needed to hand over "evidence" due to some sort of incident.

The only issue I am having is being able to view the files on my computer. I have been able to export the videos to a USB drive and they appear on my Mac computer, but when I click on the file to view QuickTime Player pops up and shows me 40 seconds of nothing. On the other hand, when I open QuickTime and manually go into the USB and select the file, the small preview window plays the actual video, then when I go to actually open the file for full screen there's nothing. Anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it?

If there's a better place to post this let me know, I wasn't exactly sure where to put it!

Try a different player. You may not have the correct codecs installed. I’d recommend something like VLC.

I have been able to export the videos to a USB drive ...

reading manuals in anticipation of my M4 delivery, I've not found where it talks about saving to usb.. any particular publication ? Also, is the center USB the only one able to do a data exchange ?

Thanks ,

This worked, thank you! Not sure why it only half works with QuickTime, but just downloaded a media player via the App Store and it played the clips just fine.

It's pretty easy to figure out once you're in the car. Just go under the drive recorder app and it'll have the option to export recordings on on that screen and you just select it. I believe the only USB that works to download is the one behind the cupholders.

Yeah, QuickTime is pretty crappy with anything not recorded on an Apple device.

Do you have any idea if theres a way to increase the resolution of the video? The footage is super shitty quality

Not sure on that. I haven’t tried looking at the footage outside of the car. Sorry.
