Liqui Moly in G8X
Anyone using Liqui Moly in these cars yet? If yes, what are you using? I just finished my first track session and want to change the fluid before my next. I was thinking of just going with Top Tec 6600 0W20 but was hoping for other input!

For the US market M3/M4s, LM recommends only SPECIAL TEC B FE 5W-30. I would stick with the stock oil.

I will be going to the 4200 here shortly. This is a great oil and option

Unless you guys are doing lifetime warranty through FCP, Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30 is much better oil than Top Tec 4200 and dirst cheap in Wal Mart.
Also, if going through FCP, I would go Pentosin Super Performance III. But, doesn't M requires LL01 FE? 4200 and oils I mentioned are ACEA C3 oils. LL01 FE is high SAPS oil. Under warranty I would personally go Motul Specific LL01 FE 5W30. After? Pretty much anything LL01 but my choice: Motul X-Cess 5W40 GEN2 or Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40. |

Hi Edycol, Why do you say that under warranty use LL01FE, then out of warranty use LL01? Side question, if someone was to apply a tune on their S58 - they should assume warranty is out the door. So is using Motul X-Cess 5w40 the best available for a tuned S58 considering warranty would be null. |

After warranty or if you tuned your S58, go LL01. X-Cess GEN2 is excellent choice. |

Ok thanks. Lastly, very interesting comment you had made about LiquiMoly. I used LM LL 5W40 on my e70 X5M and then had sent the oil sample in to Blackstone after just ~2k miles. Looks more like a high end 5W30? |

Here is where the problem is. You don't have TBN and TAN measurements. That is the key. If TAN is high, eventually oil would start to thicken again, but that is oxidative thickening=sludge. Personally, the way that oil looks after 2k, I wouldn't touch it again with 10ft pole. Next time you do UOA do TBN and TAN measurements. Don't forget, UOA is not analysis of engine condition (although it can show for example unusual wear to point to for example rod bearing failure) but analysis of oil. Wear numbers are very elusive and won't tell you anything about oil. |

Yea, understood. I have since sold the x5M to jump into the X3MC. I did the oil analysis just because I never did it for that car - However after doing that UOA I was surprised by the hyped up LiquiMoly LL 5W40. I am just about to order the Motul 8100 X-cess Gen2 5W40 for my X3MC. I saw others using LiquiMoly for these S58 engines and that got me to question it again lol. |

Had to order (two) 5L jugs on FCP euro since the 1L bottles were out of stock and buying it elsewhere the prices were close to just getting a 5L when you factor in shipping. (I know the fill capacity is only 7). |

Before talking about ll-01, fe and other stuff , ask your dealer if in case of warranty for the engine , do they check the oil . No . In my country i asked 3 dealerships where they do the analysis , and they don't have any agreement . Also i have had 2 engines replaced in warranty . Nobody checked the oil . One was a M2 F87 with Motul 300v . Replaced engine (which had also stage 1 ).
