My car doesn't seem to have blind spot detection

I don’t see the triangle on our mirror, nor in the setting in iDrive.

There's a button next to the hazard light triangle. It's a green circle when all systems are on, orange when you have some turned off. It's all the safety systems on the car, fully customizable. The triangle will only light up when a car is near your blind spot.

Did you get an HEA car? Some of them were missing some of the driver assist features due to shortages. On the sticker it should have said "missing 5AS" with a $500 credit to MSRP, or something to that effect.

OMG. I did get the 5AS $500 credit on my car. That's bad. I want it.

It's almost never cost-effective to add missing BMW hardware or electronics.

Ouch. I highly doubt you'd be able to retrofit it unless you want to spend thousands upon thousands

Curious, how come the dealership did not notify the buyer? What if this is a must-have feature that would break the deal? They can't just take away an important safety feature especially the buyer ordered it?!

What's an HEA car? I have it on mine and I took delivery in mid-March

They're the first production cars sent to the dealers, usually for presentation or demo purposes.

I believe they were only on HEA cars, so by definition they weren't ordered for someone specifically. It also is on the sheet for the car showing features

Should have checked the vehicle prior to sign off paperwork unless your dealer don't want to disclosed they've mess up the order.
