That engine bay looks like it's going to be a nightmare to work on.

Yay more cost cutting! CF driveshaft, CF brace, DCT, Handbrake. We should start keeping a list.

Looks pretty tightly packed in there. Will required a lot of small things to be removed until you can even get to the crux of some installs I feel. What used to take 1 hr could take 2 or 3...

Yet, it'll be much faster still. I mean much much faster on the track. I bet we'll see times in 7:30ish on the ring....

seems motor sits further back than the F80. Should have a nicer bite on turn in.

The photo in this thread of the X3M S58 carbon fiber intake and strut tower brace is an Eventuri kit. Same for the E9X S65 carbon fiber plenum and airbox cover/cold air intake.

I have a CF strut tower brace and painted Estoril Blue engine cover on my F3X 335i N55. Might get the N55 Eventuri CF air intake, if I upgrafe the charge pipe and intercooler. I also have part of the Eventuri E9X S65 CF kit with an IND custom painted V8 Plenum. The thin CF pieces resonate nicely while driving, like an aggressive exhaust.

The F8X S55 engine bay is a tad busy. No room for an intercooler in the front bumper so they piled it on top. The curved CF strut tower is gorgeous, but needed more engine bling to make it complete. You can paint the S55 engine cover for a touch of color.

The new G8X M3/M4 S58 is supposed to have a hybrid engine in there somewhere for an extra kick. Working on that will be a nightmare if it breaks.
Hopefully BMW fixed the crank hub defect. 24+ hours of labor to repair.

Cheers

Right?!? We get it on one model and people start acting like it's a staple while simultaneously ignoring those gorgeous seats, etc.

Lol. Damn that's horrid... I prefer an exposed engine but can at least tolerate some tasteful plastic.

Albert Biermann said F8x's CF front brace enabled much stiffer top due to its one piece design connecting the front subframe all the way to the main frame at A pillar.
This setup looks like more of a traditional design with less torsional resistance due to having two bars connect at a front bolt joint.

It’s difficult to be sure from the picture but it looks like a one piece that is just anchored with a bolt to limit vertical flex of the brace plus stabilize the front end and not a joint point for two separate arms.
