Good job on that render!

Fortunately, the front registration plate is obligatory in my country which makes it look slightly better.

ACC sensor looks terrible and like an afterthought. The G81 has a sensor mounted on the roof so I guess someone noticed it doesn't look good mounted in the left coffin.

This G81 shot looks good, I wonder if the G80 will too.

SO much aftermarket opportunity here for the front grill. I hope they capitalize on it and come up with a nice design remedy.

I'm trying to grow it on me, but I just can't. Nice rendering btw. I wish the car would've been better so your skills are highlighted more.

I'm not going to buy a $80k car with grills that “don't look that bad”!

All it needs is one big M Performance surgical mask, and I will not only be safe, but I will then love the look!

acc sensor at the roof? certainly not. front plate will not hide the sensor in the left air-intake/radiator cowling. hideous. shame on me, that i criticized audi for the acc-position in the actual A6 4K.
order without driving assistant professionel provides ugliness - mmmh.

Can you stick a Euro and NA license plate on that bug catcher?

Great rendering. Doesn't adding a front plate defeat the so called purposes of extra cooling needed in the first place? Especially huge euro plates. Wasted and not needed design. Still don't like it. I have waited 2 years to purchase this M3. Then a boner for the Touring. 2 disappointments from BMW. I even sent a message to Marcus Flasuh on IG begging to bring the M3 Touring here. Not even a reply. That was weak. My rant is over

The roof thing is a LIDAR sensor, as explained in another thread. It will not stay in the roof for the production version, whether that means the ACC sensor is no longer needed then (and the LIDAR won't be at its place, which I guess is pretty much a given) is unkown at this point.

I wish the horizontal hood line was connected at the grille. major design flaw! I dont really care about the rest of the car tbh, it will grow on me.

After owning a f82 M4 3 years looking at this pains me dearly. It looks awful. Hopefully eventually I can adapt to this new look.

Don't worry, the middle 1/3 of the massive grilles are already fake to cover the crash beam and already flow 0 air, license plates won't affect cooling or airflow when there already isn't any in that area.

It's easier to see on the 4 series since that model has been fully released and there are high res images available:

the renders are nice and all... but nowhere near the real feel when you see the car irl... not sure, maybe it's the lighting, but irl the car rly looks brutal.

Some/many will never buy it as it's an obvious catastrophe in design, others will follow your formula however I believe it will go something like this.....
"Omg it's so ugly" to "omg it's ugly but I'll deal w it for 36 mo lease"

Having seen the actual car at UDE - this is very close but the hood nostrils are not as evident.

The front is a complete mess of a design with the huge grill and all the other vents.

Other negatives:
1) No power dome
2) Charger hood scoops are fake (no vents there)
3) Side Gills are gone - now just black plastic badge there.
4) Rear Fender flares are much less noticeable
5) Car sits “higher”

OP your render is awesome.

It really doesn't look like BMW to me, too many lines. Feels like Darth Vader's mobile. Enuff said, makes me excited seeing it on the street being driven by someone else.

I stand corrected. I mixed the ACC with LIDAR sensor on the G81.

The plate won't cover the sensor but makes the grille less ugly.

Alpina's B3 and its more restrained styling will most probably gain a lot of interest. Real vents, purposeful aerodynamics.
And available as a Touring clearly in advance of BMW !
