Nothing mentioned on the suspension treatment, will be a big let down if it doesnt get any of those goodies,

The bracing and strut brace is from it but it appears thats all so far.

I don't trust them blindly anymore since they said the CSL would have helper springs and it doesn't but notwithstanding it drives like a dream so I don't care at the end.

My guess is
- CSL engine/tranny mounts
- CSL engine and transmission software
- CSL from hubs (added camber)
- CSL sway bars and bushings

Okay, but if we actually evaluate the wheel choices on the G8X, the people who don't like black or bi-color (which are also very dark) are the ones who had no choice until now. Despite a large selection of wheels with this generation, those people had absolutely no single OEM option (except the 1000M, which are not for everyone due to the larger dimensions, even though I like the design). All wheels are black, dark gray or bi-color (in very dark finish), really frustrating. The 827M in gold are finally the only ones that differ here.

Though those who want "normal" silver wheels still don't have a single choice.

I like looking at special, limited production cars like this, but don't know that I'd want to own one.
People said I was gonna garage queen my G80 Competition. Been driving it every single day and enjoying it. This CS won’t be different, I’m gonna drive it every single day. Gonna need to PPF the whole car though since I’m getting Frozen White.

To be fair, the CS is significantly cheaper than the CSL, so maybe it would be unfair to expect the CS to have the same exact hardware as the more expensive CSL? If it were the same price then it'd be a let down.

interested in seeing if and when someone Codes the CS Steering/Trans/Suspension settings into a regular Comp X-drive.

Seems like its all software changes.

Not really,

Csl is 140K msrp and includes ceramics

m3 cs with ceramics will be 126K, not sure if they are charging more yet for the frozen white or signal green either?

So now we are at 14K difference,

The msrp on the oem csl trunk is around 14K plus taillights another 5-6

When you start knit picking, the csl has a much better value per say for whats offered,

The m3cs for the price should have a good amount of the suspension stuff to be an incredible value.

If I wasnt looking for a daily out of it and driving it in the snow, the csl would be the better value and yes id daily it,
Due to wanting the AWD the cs becomes the go to choice.

Just my 2c

Not that straight line speed matters all that much but the M3CS would absolutely murder your M2CS in a straight line. The M2CS is a small car, and certainly not a bargain at 100K.

The CSL and CS are just not compelling and seem like option packages vs special cars that their price commands. I would much rather get a Z06 allocation or Carrera T (or GT3 but good luck lol) or future electric 911/M Car.

Honestly, the new C63 with the 4 cylinder F1 tech is more compelling than these (especially due to the auto transmissions in the CSL/CS) and I own multiple M cars.

I do think we reached a "peak"/"plateau"performance sedan pinnacle a few years with the Turbo M cars. Sure these are faster and more luxurious then the F8X and early turbo M5s but for all practical purposes don't provide anything new on the street (where they will be primarily driven) and are getting quite heavy for track use (consumables). There is very little reason to trade a paid off F8x (or similar) for these cars and likely have to have a payment.

To people who think there will not be mark ups on the CS (due to the economy, crypto disaster, etc), you are dreaming. There is still a lot of spending money available out there and only up to 2,000 CS. All CSLs currently at dealers right now have big mark ups. And they are selling. Same big numbers at auctions. Definitely not over!

Signal Green makes for an extremely busy color with everything else going on. Marginal HP gains just by cranking up the boost. iDrive 8, which is huge no-go for me. 75 pound weight reduction. Hmm.

I really enjoy the interior otherwise. I love the steering wheel also. I think the shots of the Frozen white coupled with the gold wheels saves the look. Any other color combo and I think it would just look... bad? Overstyled? Not sure. I'm fine with my Comp. I think the main allure will be bragging rights given its rareness.

I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on much. I'd go for an equivalently priced Cayman GT4 before I went for the CS. No question.

Will it have M3 engraved under the hood like the M5cs? Asking the real questions here!

This car is pretty cool! And I think it looks awesome in black with the good wheels.

Anyway, it also makes the CSL look like incredible value for money. The CSL even with FBG paint is just under £130k. The M3 CS even without one of the special paint colours but with carbon ceramics costs £128k. But the CS can be used as a family car too, I guess and must be ballistic off the lights!
