I am all for evolution, but this is a lot to take in .
Your photo really clearly demonstrated BMW's strong design principles throughout the years and made me realize why their styling has been unmistakable. I feel like with the new one the side profile and front-end both lost all distinctive design cues and are now just all over the place.

Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Maybe it'll grow on me.

You sir, speak the truth. Thank you for the pics/comparison. It adds heft to the argument.

I'm sure they'll sell plenty. No doubt due to the big changes in styling direction it will bring some new owners to the brand & lose some current owners too.
With the continual increases in size/weight I'll be interested to see if in years to come the pre-2020 era will grow to become somewhat of a golden era of German performance similar to that of the pre-2000 era of Japanese performance.
Have they published the weight yet?

The F90 got AWD and still managed to shed weight from the previous gen. Hopefully they put the same effort into the g8x.

Garage List
2015 Renault RS275R  [9.50]
2019 Renault RS280  [10.00]
2017 BMW M2  [10.00]
2018 Audi Q2  [5.50]
Im a big fan of 2 doors but the new M3 looks so much better than this 4. Just the 'kink' alone would have helped imo from looking at both designs. Really disapointing.
