Save yourself all some time - 10% markup (over $10k) for any buyer who lives outside of the small confines of Hartford County.

YES, For Clients who reside outside of our market (Hartford, CT) there is 10% ADM. I'm Sure you all know only 500 units have been allocated for North America, so its very likely that values will stay above MSRP as we have seen on other limited production models in the past. I can provide spec sheets, just email me. Thank you all for your interest.

I don't get any of this! Dealers should not be allowed to jack up the price just because. BMW NA should take allocations away! For all the consumer protections in the US, I can't believe buyers pay this much or any over MSRP.

This day in age when Hyundais and Subarus are selling with ADMs, I can't fault this dealership for the mark up. A mark up keep in mind, which only applies if your outside there service area.

Supply and demand. Simple economics. A car is worth what you can get for it. There is a lot of money out there and some people just don't want to wait. This car will sell within a week.

If no one is going to pay the ADM, dealers are going to list vehicles for MSRP or offer discount. Its as simple as that.

I can imagine dealers charging more for buyers outside service area. If you are local, they hope to make money for ongoing service

You mean service that is covered at no cost for the first three years? Certainly not $10k in dealer profit there to justify their markup. This is just pure dealer gouging.

I live a whole hour away from Hartford and have purchased nearly 10 cars from other New Country dealers in the last 20 years and yet I am outside their arbitrary market area and was offered the car only with the mark up. Needless to say, I passed.

I dont know if you are aware, ive reached out to 50-60 dealerships and the ADM for a car that is available for immediate sale is around 10-15K. That is for a regular M3. If you are getting a Jahre edition, I think 10K is pretty much on par or even lower than what others r asking. Times have changed and people who r willing just get the gold. I paid 5K over MSRP for an allocation as I dont have to wait 1 yr for a car. It is what it is.

I can see you're new to the forum, so not sure how much time you've spent lately shopping for an M (or really any car).

This isn't an outrageous markup for a car like this. The M4 CSL has ADM of $50-75K (and they're all sold).

NYC metro - ADM's don't get much worse than here. I am well aware of market conditions. This particular M3 is NOT in stock. It's not even scheduled for production yet and easily three months out - and it's Fire Orange with carbon buckets - two factors likely to limit its market.

What irks me is the arbitrary markup based on the buyer's zip code. The service argument does not hold water. It will take the dealer many, many years to make profit equally the over 10k markup for an out of area buyer and what's going to stop that in market buyer from immediately flipping the car to an out of area buyer?

If you have a Jahre sitting at a dealership, you would be lucky to pay just 10K above MSRP. Expect atleast 15-20K. The dealership has a Jahre being built but not delivered yet. 10K is still on par or below what people r asking for a regular M3 let alone a Jahre. 2 dealerships in FL and my local dealer in Milwaukee wanted 10K over MSRP to sit in their order bank without any guarantee for allocation. The cheapest was 2.5K over MSRP to sit in their order bank with a car that could come in 9-12 months. If you shop around you could find a dealership that takes MSRP but usually are either low volume or have like 30-40 people in their order bank. I do agree with the arbitrary zipcode based ADM but it might be more to do with dealership dealing with the aftermath once things cool down and dont want to alienate the local buyers. But most dealerships dont care about local buyers anymore and Just want to cash in on the bonanza these days.

Exactly. These are special times, dealer volumes are way down their costs are basically fixed. Anything with a strong demand is getting an ADM these days to make up the difference. You’re complaining about a 50jahre with a markup similar to a Kia Telluride.

Lol.

Don't go shopping for a GTx Porsche, Ford Raptor, G Wagon, etc. it'll give you an aneurism if you think 10% over out of service area is bad..

lol, everyone justifying this are all from USA. So you end up paying 30k above MSRP. You realize that in Canada the price is 115k + some options (without bucket seats/ceramic brakes), about 122k + tax. Think about that for a second, you are paying equivalent to almost $170k CDN! I just don't get it!

These units aren't as valuable as dealers seem to think. I played some phone tag on Friday and I STILL have dealers calling to offer me Jahre vehicles that are unclaimed. Just my opinion, but if dealers are making calls to move these at +$10k then an adjustment is in order.

Agreed - I know of 3 currently (2 orange and 1 Interlagos) that are available with markups of less than $3500 - one of the orange ones is at MSRP - all are incoming and with standard seats - $96,695 MSRP

Question

Prices are falling on eBay, M3/M4 used. 2021, 2022. People moving up to flat screen 2023?

CSL's 150 to 200 k eBay. FK NO WAY MAN. Your in Porsche territory which build quality blows this fkr in the water.

People want xDrive...so all the RWD cars have taken a hit (except the CSL of course).

Most every xDrive M3 is still over $100K, even on eBay.
