Damn ladders on the highway 🤯

Yesterday on i10, outside of Phoenix, i encountered the scariest shit (while driving). While doing the speed limit and keeping my distance, a semi in front of me ran over an aluminum work ladder, which spit out right in front of me. I was able to slow down, but not swerve into either lane due to traffic in either or. After slowing down, the car behind me was going full speed, so I had to suck it up, gas it and run it over it. Miraculously my PPF saved most of the front end, no paint damage or anything. Most importantly, my dad was with me, and we were both ok. There was a DPS officer trying to get it out of the road before I ran it over, and he did come check on my. He said I was very close to getting rear ended, but I did the best I could have to avoid any accidents. Anyways I don't know the point of this post, but this car is amazing and saved my ass.

Can’t see how it’s possible to not have damage running over that ladder, but that’s awesome! Sounds like it could have been a lot worse!

Surprised your oil cooler survived.

It's crazy what trailers/construction vehicles get away with on the roads.

Crisis averted! And now you can get that awful PPF job re-done, too.

As someone from Phoenix, we have a serious problem with large trash/objects on our highways. A few years ago a truck ran over a discarded piece of a 2x4 and its rear tires sent it hurdling into the headlight of my Mazda 6. Absolutely smashed the full assembly and did a number to the bumper.

Same with Houston. Ladder? Commonplace. I hit a lampshade once. Sadly, that wasn't the worst. March 2020 I hit some kind of super hard metal object (it was dark, morning commute) and toasted the battery on my Model 3. It also got 3 other cars before Deputies blocked the road and cleared it.

Lot of pickup trucks plus idiot drivers equals much ejected trash.

If you truly “ran it over” and it went under your car, you’re gonna wanna jack that thing up and take a peek under it for possible damage you can’t easily see.

I rolled under there last night, it looked good, but tonight I'm going to take a closer look. Luckily no lights or leaks as of yet. Crossing my fingers. If there was a way to post the video footage I would have

Glad your ok too - this comment/experience has me reconsidering the Z58 M-Performance suspension on my new build given the awful PA/NJ roads.

Wow, that sucks! Glad you guys and the ///M are ok.

The freeways here in AZ suck. So much trash and debris on them. A similar thing happened to us in my wife’s Pilot on the I-17. A big lifted truck hit some large piece of plastic that was on the road and kicked it up. I tried my best to avoid it but didn’t have much room to go anywhere. It ended up taking out a fog light, a front park distance sensor, and dented the passenger side door.

Man - really feel for you urban living MF's.

Seems like weekly someone is running over debris. I think there was a dude recently who had his mid-pipe punctured by some Chernobyl graphite looking stuff.

I did catch a fairly large chunk of asphalt - glancing blow off of the windscreen. No chips or cracks..
