Ordering San Marino Blue - but what colour leather?

Thanks be finally made a decision on my exterior colour. I’m going for San Marino Blue but confused about the interior. I want either full or extended leather interior without the bucket seats (due to daily comfort reasons). But I’m not sure on which colour to go for? Any opinions much appreciated.

I like silverstone but can’t go for it as I have two small children whom often eat snacks in the back and I wear dark blue jeans on a regular.

I’m left with Tartufo or Kyalami. I’m tempted by Kyalami but not sure if I can live with such a bright orange for such a long time (wanting to keep the vehicle for around 10 years). But then again, I do want something that pops for interior and the Tartufo just seems boring? Would Kyalami work well with San Marino? Maybe I could go for extended instead of full leather to help tame it down a little?

Another alternative might be going tone-on-tone with Fjord Blue or Yas Marina Blue (the subdued and bold option, respectively). Personally, I’m going Tartufo with my dark blue paint color. Call it boring, but I call it classy and less prone to age quickly.

Thanks for your input. I do quite like the fjord blue but I’m just thinking it won’t be enough of a contrast to the exterior San Marino and the whole vehicle may look far too blue?

What do you all think of pairing Fiona Red with San Marino Blue?

Fiona Red is a fine choice, too, if you want a bold combination that reminds some of Superman (blue/red costume).

Yeah I think the superman thing puts me off it. Maybe the Kaylami orange is going to be the better option

Fionna Red for the Superman combo alternatively, I think Silverstone or Ivory White would look good as well

I think the Fiona Red will be killer. I think it's a unfair label to put on that combo when it does match well. Aren't you a super man to your family...embrace it

I would recommend Tartufo for your interior color.

It will provide good contrast against the SMB, without competing with it like Kyalami would.

Plus if you're going to keep the car for awhile, the Tartufo will be easier to maintain / wear better than KO.

why do people keep saying KO is hard to maintain?

I'm guessing mainly because of the bright color?
It'll definitely show dirt more than the darker brown, Tartufo.

Either way, I'm set on KO interior.

I never saw that as an issue if you take care of the leather. I use Sonax cleaner and conditioner, historically it's been great for me

I'm going with Fjord blue interior, Santorini exterior. I also worry that it might be "too much blue", but my other preferred option is Silverstone. I'm just not interested in the extra effort that Silverstone takes. Kids, humans that aren't me, a complete ban on any animals, constant anxiety about jeans, bags that have touched dirty surfaces, etc. No thank you.

I think my wife is actually warming up to Fiona red though, and each time I see it I re-think my stance on red leather.

I have had oyster on two straight m340s. Honestly, it isn't nearly as temperamental as people make it out to be. I have a dog and fiance that go everywhere in my car. I take no special precautions (I wear jeans regularly, eat in car, dog goes wherever she wants, etc).

Granted, the seats are not always perfectly clean, but that is just because I don't clean them each time I wash the car. A good spray on cleaner is all you need (I use Wolfgang or something). Takes a few minutes total to clean and condition. I spend no more time maintaining the oyster than I did Saddle in my 8 yr old e92.

I am considering San Marino as well when my lease is up, and Silverstone is my top choice. I just think it would go perfectly with the purplish undertones. The Kylami would be my second choice with orange the natural complimentary color to purple. If you could get a lighter tan (like Saddle) I think that would be a great choice also.

Regardless, please send pics as soon as you get the car! I NEED to see one in San Marino. As a side note, anyone in Miami area have San Marino that I can see in person so i can choose? Haha

I'm waiting for the g87 m2 to evaluate my options but if g80 it's like San Marino on Tartufo or one of the blues similar to enzien.

I totally would’ve done a red interior but I didn’t have those options when I built my car. They must be a way to order it with the genius right? Is there an additional charge?

These are "Individual" leather options, the pictures are the full leather (with the under-dash bits etc). They are in the order sheets for the MY21s and 22s. You should be able to add a different interior up until it goes into production.

I was not given that option at all. It would not have even cost extra to get the red.

Call them right away, maybe there is time. You can give them the option code from the order sheet image if they are too daft to know how to do it.

Ivory White, Tartufo and Fiona Red were colors added for 2022 (not offered for 2021).

Not true. Tartufo and Fiona were offered for 2021 - you just needed to ask your CA. They were not available in buckets however and Tartufo still isn’t available in buckets.
