Winter wheel/tire suggestions

I just got my production number , looking like oct/nov delivery. I live in the Midwest so I’m going to need a winter wheel and tire set. Does anyone know the bolt pattern for the G82? I don’t see many options out there yet (tire rack, etc). Even on bmw parts site I’m not seeing any results for wheels.

There's some chatter on the winter tire topic here:
https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1836016

The wheels are 5x112 now:

If I decided to lower my car with the H and R springs do you think the winter tires will rub seeing the treds are a little taller?!

Happy to help. There aren't a lot of wheel and tire options yet. I'm going to get quotes on packages from my dealership. I expect delivery in November, so I will definitely need a cold-friendly tire too!

I don’t get any results if I select the M3/M4 on the tire rack site, I’ve been entering the 330i xdrive model do you know if those results would work on the new M4 ?

I don't know how the offsets, bolt pattern, etc compare. I'm waiting. It is too early to solve this problem.

There will be wheels ready, including BMW wheels (obviously) that you can get from your dealership. Tirerack has tires for different wheel sizes (such the base 18-19" wheels that will fit over the standard brakes), but no winters yet.

It’s not verified , my sales associate told me it looked like I’m in build week 35 so I’m estimating. I don’t think anyone can verify a delivery date at this point.

Originally I was with you, that it's ok to wait….but waiting on certain performance parts is endless so for so I am getting worried that maybe wheels will not be in stock when needed?

They definitely aren't in stock now

I'm likely to get a package from my dealership and be done with it. They're already queued up to get me quotes closer to delivery. I already have a package with BMW wheels on my M240i, I'm not going to get thrifty all of a sudden on my incoming M3C.

So wheels /tires that fit on a my 21 330i wouldn’t necessarily fit on a M/3 or M4?

I believe the bolt patter should be the same (someone please correct me if I am wrong), but I am not sure the offsets are compatible. Also what size are those wheels?

I just searched for a 2021 BMW 330I xDrive on tire rack and found some decent looking cheaper wheels they are 19x8 / 35mm offset. When I get the car I’ll ask the techs at the dealership and hopefully there will be more available in 2-3 months.

Hopefully tirerack will update their site to have selections that they have test fitted for the M3. I read in another thread they were just waiting for a donor car for measurements.

Not sure how much winter driving you do. I live in the Chicago burbs so we do get a fair amount of weather here. On my awd AMG, I had a really good experience with just switching to all weather tires on the factory wheels. I installed a set of Continental Extreme Contacts. They were great in the snow and also pretty grippy in dry conditions. I intend to do the same on the M3. In fact, my local dealer will store my extra set of tires year round for me (for a fee of course) so I don't need to haul them into the basement. I think they require me to purchase the tires there which may bump up the price compared to TireRack.

I suspect I'll end up buying through the dealer also. I'm also in Chicago and still have only seen one other M3 / M4 since March. I'm in north suburbs (Highland Park) and commute to city and back daily.

Since this is an all wheel drive model I ordered maybe I’ll do the same. On my F80 I used snow tires but could prbly get away with the all seasons this time around .

I would really not recommend all seasons on this car for anyone serious about driving it when it is snowing or below freezing. If you are switching tires, might as well go all the way and get winters.

I am expecting to take delivery of my M3 Comp X sometime in January. I live in North Idaho and plan to drive the car year round (not necessarily as a primary in the winter). I am hoping to find some base G80 take off wheels to put winters on. I am thinking that a number of people buying the base M3 will be buying aftermarket wheels. Could be wrong, might just be wishful thinking…

That was my original plan. I definitely will be buying a second set of wheels, don’t like the idea of taking the summers on and off the original wheels each year. You’d go winter tire over all season ? I always have but thought since this is awd could get away with all seasons and they’d be better for driving when there isn’t snow on the roads.

I'm in NY. Planning on putting on a set of All Season PS4s, storing the Summers and putting them back on near lease return. Ive don't this with most of my cars and it's worked out fine.
