Hi All,

I want to order a key fob cover for my incoming G80 M3 but don't know what the key looks like, since there are a few variations. Can anyone post a pic or tell me whether it's a 3 or 4 button and whether it's pointed at the top or not?

I've had a coupe, they're very well made and basically like having nothing on the key in terms of bulk

I ended up getting the same carbon fiber cover on Amazon for $46 with free shipping with prime.

I just ordered the red version. With the 5% off coupon and free shipping it came to a total of $47 with tax. Much better than the $60 Autotecknic wanted with shipping. 👍🏻

I dont know if its just me, but is anyone else having key quality/fitment issues. I honestly feel that a car this expensive couldve had a better key. Its almost all plastic, except for the surrounds and feels rather loosely put together. Hoping this carbon case will help solve that. Very underwhelming key.

There is a company called GatesInnovations that makes key conversions for F chassis cars, basically converts them to the X5M key, that is a much better key than the G80.

If you think $10 shipping is expensive, how bout 4 Louis Vuitton key chains, as I believe that cars approaching $100,000 justify the $400 key chains per pop (I have 2 LV's per car, '21 XM5 and future G83 awaiting SOP). Less than 1% value of the car new (G83 and F95).

Yes, to me $10 is excessive for something as light as a carbon fiber key fob case. It could be tossed in an envelope and sent out with three stamps on it. 🤷🏻

For anyone who's actually held the two back to back. the M3 key feels like it was made completely out of plastic and barely fits together. Completely loose. The X5M key is much heavier and feels solid. Again probably a small thing, but would've loved a half decent key that fit together well.

My daily is an x5 and my track car is a g82, I don't have this finding whatsoever. Sounds like you received two poorly produced keys. Take them back
