Not in my opinion. Not even close. And I do think the Audi does look good. Just not as good. I don’t even get me going on the profile of the Audi. What’s wrong with these people? A hatchback sports car? Hell no.

That's the thing, as far as I'm aware it is exactly that on the latest RS4 & 5 - a facelift.

Its not a new platform and I don't believe they've changed the underlying base mechanical package (there might be a few detail changes), just the front/rear ends and updated the interior?

Having said that I don't do a lot of reading up on Audis, as I've driven a few (not owned) over the years and never really been much impressed and so they don't really get on my radar much - so I'm happy to be corrected.

You’re correct it’s the same mechanical package that it’s been for the last 5+ years now.

I’ve seen a few drag races where the RS5 walked the G8x. I take these for what they are: mildly entertaining. The outcome of a YouTube drag race isn’t going to change anyone’s mind on which car they spend their money on.

Thanks, that's what I thought. By the way, I agree on the drag race thing, it's very much YT fodder nowadays - sort of entertaining, but not to be taken too seriously.

Having said that I've seen plenty of post on here where people seem obsessed with 1/4 mile times and immediately tuning their brand new car and/or tracking it, personally I don't get it, but I guess that's from a UK perspective.

I know we have drag racing here in the UK, but I suppose it's a bit more ingrained in US car culture and it seems most cities/towns have their own local drag strip… that's just a personal observation not a criticism before anyone gets offended

Yeah drag racing goes way back here in the states. Interestingly enough good ole Matt of CarWOW! fame really enjoys drag racing too, and that is not a US accent that he speaks with!

I’ve had a few Audi products and like them for what they are: capable, comfortable street performance cars. They used to be (option for option) cheaper than BMW but in recent years Audi is becoming quite ‘proud’ of their cars and are charging more than BMW equivalents.

Hanging the engine so far in front of the front axle hurts them dynamically and their cost makes them less compelling against BMW cars. BMW has really upped their interior game and is narrowing the gap (subjective I know) there too.

All in all…fun to watch and not to be taken too seriously.

In that screenshot perhaps but not in person (to me).

The RS5 really tends to blend in with normal cars, the G80 does not.

I'm more impressed with a G80-82 walking a C8.

I enjoyed that, thanks for sharing.

If they were the same price in the UK, I would buy the Corvette because it looks great. It actually makes the M4 look dreadful.

What? Audi looks mainstream at best

The Audi easily gets confused for a Hyundai Sonata

Lol. Not to rehash the front end debate, you must've drank a lot of cool aid on this forum to say G8x looks better than that Audi. I think the g8x face is actually growing on me too but seriously, you think that sonata looks like an Audi? Explains why you think g8x front end looks great. There's hope for fugly face chicks with hot bod I suppose.

Lol. I can respect that. It's subjective. I definitely know when a g8x is coming from a mile away. It looks mean as hell. G8x is a performance demon. I've been looking for a Isle of Man green g80 in manual. The grill and color combo looks pretty sick. Can't say the same about other colors. As far as pure performance and fun factor, g8x is hard to beat. With xdrive version, it'll be incredible off the line too. I always liked thick ladies with face that looks great with make up anyhow. When you're inside her, you only care how she rides. Haha.
