Interesting they named it Santorini blue kind of an oxymoron I Greek call her name for a German car

Looks like any other blue they had before to me
You do realize Santorini Blue was around long before the G8X, right?
Didn't know,I'm Greek and just thought it was interesting and kinda oxymoron

Doesn't look any different than the other blues imho but it's nice and I'm not a blue car kind of guy

I'm more grey/ that matte grey Audi has is the best color imho wish bmw had it for the m340

And good God how didn't the design director fire the team that grill I think I'm looking at alpha Romeo ,I mean I know it's been best to death but with that color contrast it's just even worse I wouldn't buy this car just for that grill alone

M340 is tolerable and I can change it to slits style more traditional
BMW names their colors based on locales, racetracks, etc. all over the world. Santorini is definitely NOT a blue you'd mistake for any other typical BMW blue. It's far too rare.

Why are you on the g80 forum if you hate this model/design so much? Surely your time would be better spent somewhere else.

Have you seen it in person. All of these blues look so much different in person than in pictures and video on the internet.

I just got the car back from Darien Detail with full PPF and 35% tint; I can highly recommend Darien Detail if you are in the tri-stare area.

Also changed the front side reflectors to Santorini Blue and changed the front and rear roundels to INDs painted black roundels.

That looks great!! How were you lucky enough to get the Roundels? They've been sold out forever and their website sucks not having a "notify me" option so you just have to randomly check and hope to get lucky. How do you like them? They are obviously a small change, but do you think that they are noticeable? Not something 99.5% of even the BMW population is likely to notice, but they seem like a nice subtle change. Did you swap them yourself? And if so how hard was it, especially the rear.

I ordered the roundels in early May, I think right around when they sold out. I definitely lucked out. I had the detail place just swap the old roundels for these since they were removing the roundels during the PPF process anyway (same with the side reflectors).

For such a small/subtle change, I do think they are pretty noticeable and flow better with the black trim (you're right though 99% of people will never notice). Now I just need the painted black floating center caps from IND, but those have been sold out too.

The roundels look great. You're right, it is subtle but absolutely flows.

Nice…
I noticed that Santorini is a flat paint (non metallic).

How soft is the paint compared to a metallic blue (like Long Beach).

I'm curious because I owned BMW flats before and they got marred easily. In my opinion they were a little softer than metallic paints. Do you notice the same with these individual paints?

I didn't notice any appreciable difference with my Nardo Gray versus Yas Marina Blue, for example.

What makes it an "oxymoron"? The fact that it's a German car? Either that or you don't seem to know what "oxymoron" means.

Would that then also make sau paulo yellow, portimao blue, toronto red, isle of man green and brooklyn grey oxymoron colors as well?

I had just seen an M5 in this at 711. Everyone in the store came out to huddle around it. It's a stunning color.

I'm so excited to see this thread! Congratulations! The car looks amazing.

My car started production this week. Almost the exact same spec. I went with the all black wheels and Silverstone full leather interior.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice, I'm wondering if BMW sells touch up paint for this color?
Also is it easy to match by body shops?

I am torn between Enzian vs. Santorini.

Me too. I am deciding between Santorini & Enzian. What is the major difference between these two colours? I just cannot find the difference as they look so similar?

Im also torn between colour of interior. Fiona Red or Tartufo?? Black interior is boring and cant go for a white interior as I have two young children.

They're really tough to understand without seeing them in person and I still have no idea what Santorini actually looks like. I always thought Enzian was pure blue with a little bit of turquoise in it and Santorini was blue with a little bit of something else in it. Someone else on here posted that Enzian was blue with a little bit of purple in it and Santorini was blue with I forget what in it. Although I'm not sure that really helps if you haven't seen them. They are tough colors to comprehend without seeing them in person. I would have liked to have gone with a different interior than black but was afraid I would make a wrong choice without seeing in person and then be stuck with it for 3 to 4 years every day. I had no real idea exactly what I was getting until I finally saw it in person at the performance center. Enzian and I'm guessing also Santorini are just really unique blues. People that have seen them have commented on that that there is just something unique and special about them compared to other blues on the road

I wish I knew!

With Fiona red I'd go with skyscraper grey and red calipers. That's another spec that I'm looking at.

Tartufo is quite common and boring in my opinion (no offense). I have brown interior (mocha) very similar to Tartufo in my X5. It definitely suits the SUV but not sure if I would spec it on a M3C.
