Separate note: I keep seeing a camo'd X5 around here that definitely isn't the M... not sure what X5 would be under camo these days.
It probably sounds very similar to the X3M. Which is good because it seems to sound better than the S55.

The X5 might have been an EV version with revised body work.

Just what I was thinking. Not much exposure for the front end. Oh well

I've seen the mule in Newport Beach on PCH. Rolled down my windows and it was as quiet as a mouse while surrounded by the rest of the traffic. I see so many mules on a daily basis. Impossible to take a shot in that stop and go traffic.

Is it really that difficult for BMW to differentiate the exterior design of M3 from the G20. They really ought to look substantially different, not just M Package, fenders, exhausts, wheel and tire variations from the regular 3 series.

I know cost is an issue here but I I am paying north of $70,000 I would want my car design to be substantially different, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

Anyone shares this opinion?

The G80 will look much different compared to a G20 3 series for all the reasons you mention plus the widely different front grill. It will definitely NOT be mistaken for an M340i.

Huh? Looks like it has unique quarter panels, fenders, hood, and bumper covers. Just like every other M3. The whole point of the M cars was SUBTLE sportiness. It's not supposed to be some crazy sports car. There are plenty of other options for that. It's supposed to be a somewhat factory sleeper.

Think this gen will have better steering than f80 and better sound inside, unlike f80, but poor sound outside just like f80.

FYI the only shared panel is the door. Maybe the rear door too.

For some strange reason something tells me that 90% of the guys making complaints about what this vehicle looks like wouldn't be making a purchase regardless of what it looks like...🤷🏽

IIRC the release of new M3 will be accompanied with more M Perf options available at release.

MP exhaust, HAS, lip, splitters, skirts, spoiler, and diffuser (with carbon choices) would be fantastic at release.

waaaiittt a minute .... MAYBE THAT'S NOT CAMO!

Maybe the production model has one paint option: "urban camo" - genius solution!

If the photos leaked of late of 4 series coupe nose in comparison to leaked factory M3/4 nose are any indication BMW is possibly differentiating the appearance more then usual between the 3 and M3.
