How much could I lower the car in the front if using 20” 826m wheels, and maintain the stock clearance on the lower lip. Can I reduce this wheel gap somehow without sacrificing clearance?

If you close the wheel gap, it’ll lower the front end clearance as well. Put your new wheels on and then lower enough for a “sporty” look instead of stanceboy and you’ll not only have better clearance, but also better handing and proper suspension travel since you’re not totally killing that stroke length to tuck your tires into your fenders. I honestly find 1.5 to almost two fingers fender to tire looks acceptable and doesn’t kill ride height. That said, use your wife’s fingers if you’re a hamfisted gorilla, because those measurements won’t be correct then. Lol

Sounds like the gap already irks you - doubt that goes away. I just went with a super cheap lip so that I don't have to worry as much. I just try to take it easy over dips and pull the camera up when I'm parking near curbs. You basically learn to live with it.

Just an additional FYI since you’re not going to lower it. If you go 20” and drop the tire sidewall profile (essentially what’s called a +1 setup) the gap to sidewall ratio will change a little. Sometimes, depending on how big that gap is, this change can exacerbate the gap even more because now your eyes will see less sidewall than gap and it just doesn’t look right. Wheel design will also play a roll on how this looks, so be aware of that if you were going aftermarket or just stock back wheels up front. Before you spend the money on 20’s up front, test fit one of your back wheels up front to get a rough idea of what I’m taking about. Example, grab the back right wheel and put it on the left front and then settle the car down with the ebrake On and see if you like the look. If it’s not to your liking, at least then you won’t be out money and have any regret.

Lower it . Front gap is hideous and you will not unsee it.
I went with eibach springs. Very mild drop of 20mm made enough of a esthetic difference without compromising ride quality or getting concerned with scraping. Currently running 20” in the front and back. |

It’s worth scraping They look like Jeeps from the factory. Only thing worse than the factory stance is the sound. Lol.

Lower it with Eibach springs and you won't compromise your ride. Also depends on front lip you get also. If you get the MPerf lipor one that takes off the oem corner pieces, you will rarely of any scrape. If you get a lip like the Suvneer lip, you have to be a little careful. I scrape barely with the Suvneer now but not enough to worry because I have sliplo underneath. Also I'm running 20's.
