Mint Grun Individual M4CX Delivery!

TLDR: I got a new Mint Grun (Mint Green) M4CX. Photos below!

As some of you may know, my 2023 M3CX in IOMG with gold 827 CS rims and the MPHAS was recently backed into, resulting in the replacement of the driver side front door and painting of that door with blending of front fender and rear door. The new paint was pretty darn close in color, but the metal flake just wasn’t the same. I could see it, and it drove me nuts. So, I disclosed it, got an insanely good offer ($85k at 8k miles) and sold it to move on. I immediately put an order in for a Zandvoort Blue M2, with not much excitement about it, but not much else to go for. I didn’t care to wait for another M3 – or to pay sticker for it, having just been through all that. The M4 is my least favorite of the three, but I like the niceties that come in the G80/1/2/3 vs. the G87 model. I flirted very heavily with the Alfa Giulia QV – an amazing car with a much better steering and chassis feel, seriously let down by a terrible dealer network.

Ultimately, I saw xxyion‘s thread about his new Boston Green M4 and figured I should go for an individual car. I actually had seen that car, loved it, but figured nobody would get the discount he got. So, I went searching and found a couple I really liked locally. The first was a Sepia Brown on Full Tartufo (brown and browner) M4C and the second was a Mint Green over black M4CX.

I initially didn’t see the Mint car and was focused on the brown – I’m a sucker for brown, see my ED thread. We got sort of close on the brown M4C, but couldn’t quite agree. I wanted more than the 11% discount achieved on the AWD Boston Green because the brown is, well, brown and RWD. So, I said I’ll get back to you. This was Friday.

Interestingly, when I had my M3CX in for its last service before selling, I saw the Mint Green car on the floor and wandered over to take a pic and look at her. I then figured it had sold because I didn’t see it in inventory the first time I looked. But yesterday morning, when using the BMWUSA search site – usually useless – I saw it was there and immediately got on it. I said let’s do the 11% off on the Mint Green one. They then of course wanted to sell the brown for 12% off all of a sudden and I said no, it’s the green. Brown would have to be more down because RWD.

Some back and forth and we agreed to about $250 above where I wanted to be and 10.75% off sticker. They also delivered the car to me, which was nice. I wanted to take delivery at the local store where the car was, not at the main store and they said they couldn’t because local store GM would get all fussy. Delivery worked for me. It was bit late in the day and darker than I like for a new car, but was able to do my usual thorough inspection with the help of the Land Rover headlights.

As a bonus, it is a June production 2024 model, so its base sticker is actually $1,360 below what it would be today, meaning the effective discount was more like 12%. This is before BMW advertised rate of 5.29% for 60 (yuck – didn’t finance much because of that) and the $1000 loyalty. I do lose out on the BMWCCA rebate because this is the second car in a year, but I’ll apply and ask for mercy and see what happens.

Felt badly for my main CA re the M2 order, but he totally understood and encouraged it. Said the M2 definitely has a lesser refinement level.

I’ve included some photos from this AM. I've hardly driven the car as I’ve already dropped her off at my ceramic and tint guy. I’m off skiing to Mammoth this week while she gets dialed in! I will say that I do like a coupe much more than a sedan. I like the bigger door and the seating position just seems to be better. I'll also say the individual paint seems to be a tad thicker and higher quality than the standard stuff. The car also seems to be a "best sample" in the fact all the panels are perfectly fitted. Not that the non-indie colors are bad, but it seems to be just a tad more uniform.

Thanks to xxyion for the post that snowballed this, calbears for the photo encouragement in that same post and Nick LoCasale and team at McKenna.

For those wondering, as you can see, this car won the tire lottery.

And, finally, for your collective viewing pleasure...

That's a very cool color, and it really suits the M4. I've read all your threads dating back to the F87, and enjoyed the journey. Congrats on the new car and enjoy in in good health.

Funny you should say that. I first saw the color in person on an xDrive G80 in Sweden in February of 2022. I agree, it suits the coupe better than the sedan.

Hey Congrats!! really happy that my deal was able to spark some other deals for other people! That is an amazing color. Another Porsche color if i believe. I remember seeing someone take delivery of a Mint Green GT4 on the forums a few months before i got mine.

You know, i'm beginning to think that green just somehow suits the M4 in a way that nothing else does. I already liked the car in IOMG and of course i love my Boston Green, but man the Mint pops so well! And i also agree it really fits the coupe vs the sedan. I havnt been able to enjoy my car as mucgh as i was hoping as its raining a ton up here in the Bay Area and right after it was gone for 3-days for PPF and Tint. Went with 20% all around and my god is it sexy. Enjoy your new M4!

Thanks! Yea, a Porsche color originally debuted on the 964 I think. My M3CX was IOMG, having spent quite a bit of time in one in Sweden for Ice Driving in February of 2022. That said, I actually think the IOMG is just so-so on the M4 vs. the M3. I think the deeper and brighter colors suit the M4 better, whereas the M3 does really well with the mid-tones.

Anyway, mine is currently the shop for ceramic and tint. Had 20 on my M3 with Tartufo and a larger greenhouse. With this one having the black interior and much smaller greenhouse, I'm going with 35. They did that today, so they will next start on the paint correction/ceramic.

Rain is definitely a buzzkill on getting to drive around in a new toy. Should clear up soon!

I don't. I've had PPF in the past and it's just never perfect enough. I enjoyed the protection it offers but even with a top-tier shop installed top-tier stuff, it's not quite there for me. That said, ultimately I normally end up not keeping the car long enough to justify it. Of course, every time I say that I end up thinking I'm jinxing myself.

Ah, found it, and the story. Good show. The PPF is all about the installer. I went full PPF on my car, but, you have to have a good installer. My PPF has been amazing for 29 months, and 16,800 miles. Are you doing anything else, for the car? Dont let me tempt you with the LCi tail lights.

Are those the new OEM variant? Tempting. Looking into same mods I had on the M3…MPHAS and factory carbon tips. Just not keen on the labor costs.

They are the 2025 LCi tails. They’re pretty much the same as the CSL tail lights. They’re coming installed on every g22-g82 as standard for 2025. Now they’re 75% less than CSL while still being Oem. Check my thread on them. https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2089380

Super cool. The coding thing and having to change after updates drives me nuts though.

We have some good guys in the thread, working on a more permanent solution. Looking to get either a diode or sometime similar to supply constant power to the tails, on startup, so we dont need to flash anything. But thats a work in progress.
