That's lame--sorry you experienced that. Why in the heck did they even bother to state that they would match whatever rate you bring forward?

I knew that was BS to begin with. I complained to my SA, you ran my credit report for no reason knowing you'll be giving me that rate if I had good credit. She was all apologetic and said she'll try to bring the rate down. Let's see how much leverage she has. I may complain to the GM and see if that changes anything.

You said you can get better than 6.29% with your credit union so just finance with them and avoid all this drama. Even if you can’t get better than 5.29%, the difference is minimal and the dealer won’t get a kickback.

Is it true to get the loyalty discount you have to finance with BMW? If so, I'll finance with them then refinance again with the credit union within a month.

Yes, but last I heard there wasn’t a loyalty discount on the M3/4. I could be wrong though.

My credit score is 879, was offered 6.29 through BMW for 36 or 60 months. I have a month to shop around.

True but they haven’t had loyalty on M3/4 for a while now. They don’t need it on these cars because it’s so easy to sell. Last year they had 750 I believe this year is 0.

The second M3 I bought at the end of July of this year they gave me a $500 loyalty. This new dealer I'm buying from out of state told me the range could be from $500 - 2500 (depending on what promo the dealership is running). I trust this new dealership less though. Let's see what happens.

I spoke to the GM of that dealership and complained about the finance manager how she was marking up 1% and that I was disgusted by her attitude. He apologized and said we never markup on interest rates and that he'll talk to her about it. Going to see if I get to lock in that rate in the next few days.

Yeah that sounds like a classic sales technique. When you point out that they're trying to screw you they feign innocence and give you the right price, and go right back to trying to squeeze the last drop out of every other customer until they get caught again.

For what it is worth, my dealership seems to be very customer-focused.

My locked in rate was 4.99% [for 90 days], however, the car was delayed in its arrival. The current rate for December is 5.29%, but my dealership wanted to "honor my locked in rate" so what they did was discount the purchase price of the vehicle such that using the December rate of 5.29% would net me the same monthly payment (@ 4.99%).

Honestly, the amount was not a huge difference, but it was the principle that really surprised me in how this dealership chose to handle the situation.

Dealing with this right now as well, they told me 6.29 for 60 months and when I pointed out I have a buddy who works at a dealer and I know the prime rate is 5.29, they said that requires loyalty. Buddy told me to ask them to show where it says in the terms that 5.29 requires loyalty. Did you hear back from the dealer if they pulled back on that rate?

That's BS, loyalty doesn't play a part in interest rates. It's a global deal. They are just marking it up.

They said verbally they'll offer me 5.29 but they haven't given it to me in writing yet. It's very frustrating working with that dealership. Only reason I went there is because they had an allocation otherwise I never would have ordered from there.

Try talking to the GM over there and see if he/she can help.

Called them out on the loyalty bs, also made my dissatisfaction pretty clear with everything in general. I got the 5.29 locked in now, annoying that this whole song and dance had to be done to begin with.

Initially BMWFS was trying to give me 7.99% (72 months) and then tried to get me a lower rate to compete with USAA 6.24% w/ an additional .25% off for automatic payments (72 months).

The finance department tells me they give people with 700+ credit rating the lowest rate possible. I came in with 840 credit and still got a crap rate of 7.99%

You’d think BMW would want to get you in with their credit and if that means going lower than your 3rd party bank so be it, but I guess not.

I feel like they’re lying to you or something, 72 should be 5.79% without dealer markup through BMWFS for tier 1. Did they show you the credit report and everything?
