What’s weird is they do the orange in the light and that stupid orange marker in the fender. These are US requirements. But why can’t it be that the orange side marker is enough. It’s easy to get rid of that one. Why did they do the light as well.

Bumping this up - does anyone know the definitive way to turn off the sidemarkers on an iDrive 8 G8X with lasers? I tried messing with the LMM1 settings in the FLE modules but it didn't work

This can be done through Bimmer utility guys super easy to do use the following
Coding out the Side marker Lamps G82 M4 go to FLM2 - there is a Left and Right Side so you will have to do both - Search Duty: you will see the following LM03_DUTY_CYCLE_BINNING_CLASS1 through 4 - you need to change the Values from Wert_2( C8) to Wert_1(00) to all of them and there you go side marker lamp deleted |

so is this not something that you can do with Bimmercode? I am coming back to BMW after a long time away (used Esys on a laptop back then) and will likely buy something for coding. What's the best tool now?

I use both Bimmercode and Bimmerutility, but the latter requires more setup (ESYS and psdzdata) and a more expensive license. |

In my opinion Bimmer utility - its translate somewhat to English to know what values your looking at to code - I stumbled on changing the color of my car so now the wrap is the same color and my car instead of the factory Blue ... Finding alot of stuff in there - Bimmercode I would say its for the average first entry to coding - you cant mess up anything at all -

Also was trying to code the anti-dazzle stuff so I can use all that, and I can't seem to figure that out either. So as of right now, I'm $100 poorer from buying BimmerUtility, but still have my amber corners on and still no anti-dazzle 🤦🤦 |

Anti-Dazzle is much more involved as it requires VO coding as well (the codes that you see in your car specs, one of them is decoding anti-dazzle for the US market, that's what you remove) along with some additional FA coding. I can send you some documentation via PM but it's not for the faint of heart. |

The way I did the Anti Dazzle is through Bimmercode then Bimmer utility to finish the last process - I see the other member sent you something - 2024 should work |

They have a button for the quick FA coding stuff but it still requires you to do VO coding separately. It can be done in BimmerUtility, but it still requires setting up ESYS and psdzdata, if you want the "full" anti-dazzle functionality.
