Is it better waiting? I dont have an allocation but it should be next month - my kid says maybe anticipation is better than possession. In late April or May - I will write a big check and have car (with payments too but similar to my trade in). Is it going to be a let down on some level? I have excitement AND the cash right now. Like coming home after a great vacation I always have a twinge of - should have done this instead. Opportunity cost or my neurosis.

Uh, HELL no.
I got an allocation for a week 29 build last year. If I had gone with a non-individual interior, I would have had that car by the end of August. Instead I changed my build, got booted back to status 111. When I got re-assigned it was week 38! (I was told it would bump me 4-6 weeks, not 9). Well, turns out I caught the other side of the summer break. Then my car got built. And sat in Bremerhaven for 5 weeks. Finally got on a ship. Show up and it docks in Houston....oh wait, that wasn't your dock. 2 days later we move to the CORRECT dock. Car gets off boat....sits for 2 weeks before getting on a truck to South Texas. Which means I have to re-schedule my flight down there and wait another week. Finally get the car on December 7th. So one interior change cost me over 3 months delay. Was that painful? YES! Did it suck seeing week 29 people post pictures of delivery, break ins, road trips and mods? Oh very much so. Do I regret it? Hell no. Was I enjoying the anticipation more than driving my car? Absolutely not. |

Mine are too young to really appreciate the car but for me it’s a major milestone. |

Placed my order in August, went into production in the beginning of November, sat at the port for about two weeks awaiting a ship. Two week or so to cross the ocean and then sat in New Jersey port for 3 weeks getting port installed options. Now it is sitting at the dealer waiting to be picked up next week, can’t wait!

I can say that as agonizingly long as this past few weeks of waiting was, it was worth every second. I've honestly not gotten much further than staring at it in the garage and smiling. I'm waiting on PPF/Ceramic coating to really put it through its paces with the Seattle weather right now.
