Miles on odo at pickup?

My AD sent me pics after the car got to the dealership last week. Xmas travel until the 30th is keeping us apart.

I caught the odo in one of the pics, and at 28 miles seemed higher than I’ve experienced before (always in the teens or less). Curious what everyone else has been seeing.

Thanks for the threads - there’s definitely a variance from the norm. Almost no one above 20, save for damaged in transit. I don’t think mine was, it tracked from build to delivery with almost zero delays/waits throughout.

Will be asking the dealer. I know it seems small overall, but when 15 or less is the overwhelming norm, a 75-100 variance stuck out to me. Oh well.

It's 10-12 miles over norm, what is the dealer going to do anyway, send it back? Are you going to order a different one? So many other things to worry about, rectify it in your head and move on.

I’m not worried or sending it back, not sure why you mentioned them as the next step here. Just seeing if others experienced similar. Maybe someone with the same asked dealer and it led to freebies or a few bucks off. Worst case is they say no.

Looks like someone took it for an extended test drive. It’ll always be no until you ask!

Looking through the first thread, agree, the majority were 10-20 but there were many >20 miles.

I assume this is an order car. Ask what their PDI process involves? Do they have off site storage since you are not picking up the car right away? Transit documentation should list the mileage. Ask to see it?

The dealer would probably do something to keep you happy, regardless if the miles were legitimate or not. If I knew someone unnecessarily drove the car (even though it’s not ‘mine’ until I sign the docs and pay for it), I certainly would be annoyed and would make that known to the dealership management. I would rather voice the complaint than get freebies or a few bucks off.

I had 5 when I picked up mine last year, 20+ seems like a lot. Ask them to throw in the all weather floor/trunk mats

I got mine a week ago. When I first jumped in the car I saw 275 miles and I was about the freak out. Then I realized that was miles to empty. Odo was 17 miles.

22 miles on mine. Picked up Saturday.

Might be high but like someone mentioned, this is not a rare car or limited edition so just get in, drive and enjoy.

Once every xxx units doesn’t BMW pull a car off the finishing line and run it around their test loop a few times? I think several BMW factories have a test track/loop around or next to them.
