Yesterday I picked up my M3 CS Brookling Gray from my dealer.
I have only driven for 50km, now I don't move it because I need to prepare: decontaminate and eliminate some swirls because next week professional guys will come to apply the PPF and after I will apply ceramic protection. In this first hour of use I immediately feel that it's completely different from my M3 CS F80, less nervous, more confortable... more "smooth"! I cannot test the engine because I need to complete the break in period, the gearbox is S3 it's very fast to upshift in every situation, more or less like my M3 CS F80; in past I have already tried several times an M3 and M4 G8x Comp. but the gearbox was noticeably slower to upshift than the DKG of my M3 CS F80. Downshift is more or less similar to other G8x maybe a little more fast but the difference is not that impressive like the upshift. The sound it's a little bit different from normal M3/M4 CP G8x (consider that in Europe cars are fitted with 2 GPF filter), it's a different timbre perhaps due to the titanium terminal, I like it but it's a personal taste and I feel the intervention of the ASD inside the cabin especially in Sport Plus. As just explained in other threads the yellow leds are switched in yellow only when I open (welcome lights) and close the car and during driving with laser light on too... using only DRL leds they switch in white! Sincerely I hope it will be possible to find a solution to code DRL with yellow leds using some tools (E-sys or similar tool). I definitely don't like ID8 and I much prefer the "old" ID7, doesn't look good for a sports car to me.. and when I sit in the car I fell like the huge screen it's a little shifted on the right side, probably because on the left they had to "cut it off" because there is the left air vent... only the new Head Up view is not so bad. The car come with Pzero Corsa tyres... I'm not a fun of Pzero Corsa, I prefer CUP2 but so I have another chance to check Pirelli sticky tires. I put some pics where I hope you can see the increased camber respect normal G8x and I seems to notice (hope I'm not wrong) a lower steering angle than the normal G8x Xdrive, if I remember correctly the last G8x Xdrive I tested seemed to have a better angle, but to be safe, I'll check with a my friend's car as soon as possible. At home I checked the car and I notice that under the carbon front lip there is a plastic protection to prevent a bit scratches (see the pics). I post some pics of the new car and some pics side by side with my "old" M3 CS F80, sorry but the cars are not clean (today it's raining in north of Italy). In the next days, while I'm preparing it for the PPF and for the ceramic coating, if I notice something new I'll gradually update the thread with my impressions... I hope to start driving it "properly" by the end of May or the first days of June so to better appreciate all the differences with the old sister F80. When finish PPF and ceramic I'll post some pics with the results! P.S.: Sorry for my bad English. Last edited by bordins; 05-11-2023 at 08:10 PM.. |

Yes I plan to keep my F80 because I love it from the first day (and I have 15.000km only), I'll wait to finish break-in and drive on my road and hills in order to compare better the handling of the 2 cars... after I'll report all my feelings! |

Does the cs have different exhaust vs the comp?
Yes the CS come with a titanium rear muffler, more lighter than normal G8x muffler, like the M4 CSL, maybe it's the same component, I need to check with ETK. You can see in the pics where the exhaust was cut... to connect the steel to the titanium muffler! |

Very nice. You may want to look into getting new tires for your F80.
