Hey guys, Got some H&R sports springs in my room. Want to get them installed, I called 2 shops down here in south FL and waiting for a couple more responses. I got quoted $385 + $120 for installation and alignment and then got quoted like $1,200. Wondering if any of you guys are willing to share how much u spent on instillation.
The picture attached below is the second shop, He also said it’ll take 2 days to install. I would rather pay more to get the job done right but this is a big price difference! Let me know ! |

I can see it taking a few hours but deff. not 2 days. At my local Canadian shops, I've been quoted around $1100. Which is on part with what most Canadian shops will charge. For USD, I would think 600-800 is fair, so the first quote seems quite low. But more than the price, buy the shop and if they are good, seem to know what they are doing, have reviews, other similar projects done etc.

Perhaps they are only up charging me cause of the vehicle, I reckon that installing springs on a civic would be somewhat similar to the bmw

A shop that is supposed to be trustworthy, very odd that they want to charge me this much. Thought it was normal until i saw all the responses, They do my families car maintainence but they have toyotas. I’ve seen them with a couple BMWs though. my perspective has changed on them

Civic owners won't pay 1200 for spring install so yes m-tax in effect.

Are they just springs? Does the front have the adjustable sleeve like M Performance?
I did the M Performance kit myself in like 5 hours and I had to take the struts to work to press off the factory sleeve. Springs only would be 2hrs for any experienced mechanic. And the BMW Dealer here quoted me like $2,800.00. Every time I think; "I'm old, I'm just going to pay someone this time". I get some BS quote and end up doing the work myself. |

For front springs only, was quoted 1200 plus alignment, 1000 with alignment and paid a bit over 700 for install with alignment. All at shops I’ve used over the years.
Even the 700 seemed a bit high. |

Well you did the right thing by shopping around and getting quotes from different places. Now leverage it - tell the 2nd shop that you want to support a local business that you and your family have been using for years, but the other shop is offering a much lower rate and you wanted to offer your preferred shop a chance to price match before you gave your business to someone else.

Just got two quotes from local Vegas shops for Eibach springs on base ‘24 M4.
Both are quality shops. $1600 with alignment - A Arrow Alignment $1000 plus alignment - SW Bimmers. Both are out of their mind… for a job that with a lift and power tools should not take professional mechanic more than 3 hours including lunch break. There is a reputable performance shop in socal 4 hours away that does it for a somewhat reasonable $500. Looks like the choice is to take a drive and spend money not on local business or just do the job myself. |
