I do....I noticed that everytime someone sits in the front for the first time, they have the urge to touch the wood trim. Can't say why, but I've observed it. I guess it draws attention and they want to see what it feels like.

I love it!! Also made one change...

Mercedes, Audi and Lexus engage you when the roads are straight and the traffic light is RED.

The BMW engages you when the roads are twistie and the light turns GREEN.

my benz C32 was a turd. the int was as ceap as you could get, and for 60K it was a huge mistake! More conveniet nooks but at the end of the day, I prefer the bmw driver oriented spartan int.

the fact that you cant drive (AWD anyone ) does not presuppose your initial , unfounded assumption

My wife has a 2006 E350. I'm VERY impressed with the interior quality and layout. The engine is good for what it is too. The 2007 looks even nicer.

But what where is the comparison here? They're not claiming to be producing he ultimate driving machines. They're trying to be all about luxury.

My wife and I test drove a 5 series and an E350 when we were looking for her car. She summed it up quite nicely when she decided that "the BMW was too sporty" for her!!! Is there anything else that needs saying?!?

Lexus interior better than a BMW or Mercedes? PUHLEASE!!!!!
I test drove the IS350 and the '07 G35 before deciding on my 335i. I was disappointed with the interior in both. Too many colors in the instrument cluster on the G35, too busy with knobs and buttons in both, too little space and comfort for the rear passenger in the IS350. These cars don't compete.

I appreciate the E350 for what it is - a luxury sedan that (as my wife describes) floats down the highway.

I appreciate my 335i for what it is - a sports sedan that leaves new Lexus and GS owners drooling in my dust!

My comments refer to the Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus of the same categories.

Fine, lets play it your way

Luxury class performance:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/.../photo_07.html
Lacking here performance wise no?

Don't even compare the 335i's to the Mercedes C class performance wise.

Therefore conclusion stands:

BMW = Performance
Mercedes = Luxury
Lexus = Durability

The E class is a great car. We have 2 of them in the family. The dark silver one (moms) and the blue one(family car). I used to drive the blue one all over its an 07 E350 sport, but after getting the E90 I hardly ever driver the E you can really fell the weight of the car and its like driving a boat around. But in a strait line it will murder the BMW and in terms of driving comfort its a whole lot smoother and quiet than the BMW, which makes freeway driving relaxing. The sport model also has a great sound almost like a V8 engine and its quite loud on the outside when you are going WOT. As someone said about BMW vs Mercedes interior, yes the BMW is more simple with buttons which I like but the Mercedes is the most comfortable to sit in. Overall the E class has elegant timeless looks and a nicely laid out interior. Before we bought the E350 sport we considered the 530i and to be honest the 5 series was just strange inside and ugly on the outside.

Here are some pictures of the twins, Blue one is 07 Sport and the Grey one is a regular 06.

You are right on. Driving a BMW is a ton of fun, but going from a BMW to a Mercedes is relaxing. Going back to driving a BMW after the benz is like being a kid again you heart rate goes up and you drive harder.

I have been in the E55 AMG which gets beat out by the E class with sports package in terms of being able to pull more G's on the skid pad. And no AMG car will ever handle like a BMW even the most die hard AMG driver will admit that. The car has hardly any feel and is very disconnected compared to the BMW.

i've driven a 2000 E320 for over 5 years before i bought an e92 328, they are both great cars but for different reasons, after a long day of work/school, i am exciting about my drive home in both cars, but for different reasons. For the merc, i want to hop in because it feels just like home and you are embraced by plush surfaces, comfy seats, quiet interior, light steering (could be both good or bad IMO). In my e92 however, i am just as excited as hopping in because i know i will enjoy this drive in one of the best handling machines any money can buy

i love both cars, i still have my e320 that i drive on long trips, lexus and g35 drivers can only stare when i drive past them in my e92, regreting that they didn't spend that extra cash for a bimmer

what year? with its 40% stiffer steering rack, re-adjusted suspension etc... the 2006+ MY E55 is completely different to drive

my cls55 handles better than my 7series, my old 330i e90 (non m-sport)... but not quite up to my E46 m3

comment from another E55 owner:
Stay away from the '03 E55s. You'll need to find someone to retrofit the COMAND and NAV and as Cyn stated the older models do not have the updated steering rack. Go find an 05 up
