So as I expected, they came back and said I qualified for 6.29%. I told them I knew 5.29 was the lowest and asked if I could get that, but they said it required loyalty which I’m sure isn’t true. My question is I’ve shopped at some credit unions as well and none of them got to a 6.29 or lower, closest was 6.35 so I can’t leverage that route to go lower, so do I have any options on getting the dealer to go lower? My credit union said they could match, but not necessarily go lower unless I got another lower rate.

You do not need loyalty to get 5.29%, and you need to tell them that you know that. Tell them that if they insist on 6.29, you’ll refinance with an outside source immediately and they’ll lose everything.

Great advice!

It's so fascinating how much dealers are trying to squeeze out of people these days. They're trying to give less on trades so they can sell for more profit. And then, they're trying to extract as much from people on deals by trying to add stuff people don't need / want / doesn't residualize (e.g. nitrofill, vinetch, protection packages, all season floor mats, etc.). You'd think dealers would get more profit from manufacturers loading more profit in the deals as part of the MSRP going up.

Increase in msrp is more likely a higher profit for the manufacturers. Dealers are always trying to get theirs plus more. It’s up to the consumer to tell them no and be educated on extras, rates, etc.

Thanks again for the advice. Went a bit Karen and called him out on it along with making it clear how dissatisfied with the whole process I was and how I was losing confidence in this dealership. That seemed to get him to change his tune and I got the 5.29.

Any BMW loyalty money available for December M3’s? Last I check there wasn’t.

Found this M4 in SD but it looks too good to be true for that price... Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

Carfax is clean, it is RWD, but it’s also pretty well loaded. It’s a 2021 so it’s about to be 5 model years old in a few months, but it does seem like a great deal. Go check it out.

Almost certainly a lease turn-in. 3 years from a 2020-2021 delivered car, 10k/year at 30k miles. Seems fine. I agree, go check it out.

Seems M4s, notably the convertibles, are getting nice discounts. M3s idk

I'm looking forward to driving one of these, but they really have to wow me for the price. There are Giulia QVs floating around with 2k miles going for $65k.

M2 is another option but I'd imagine they are leasing terribly and there's no lease trade ins yet.

When my M4 was stuck in QC for 4+ months in 2022 I took a Giulia QV home for the weekend. My friend was the GM and was giving me a sweet deal - sale price at invoice and guaranteed he'd buy it back at the same price in three months if my M4 came in and I still wanted it. After 1 day, I knew I didn't want the QV. It was quick, but the older platform and old tech didn't do anything for me. And, now the QV is an even older (EOL) platform.

Yeah I mean it's older car now and not reliable. But I've really enjoyed the examples I've driven. The chassis, lighting quick steering, and engine are glorious. I've yet to drive a modern BMW that was as fun a car, but of course that's subjective.

I really don't care for tech beyond Apple CarPlay, and they offer basic self-driving tech if one wants it. Seeing these for $65k with 2-3k miles is a steal IMO. You'd be hard pressed finding a lease trade in G80 for that price.

G80 ofc wins on tech, interior, resale value, reliability, dealer network.

What are you looking for? BMW Carlsbad has a Dakar Yellow over black buckets, 6MT with the civic wheels. It's a phenomenal spec.

I’d say that’s decent.
I got 5.29 last month with 500 off.
I think someone else mentioned the rates might have went down. Not sure.

As for the intrest rate; both mentioned above seem the best BMWFS is offering. As for actual discounts; that is all depending on dealer and relationship. I custom ordered my G80X and I got 3% off msrp.

Anyone heard of “ultra” tier for rates from BMWFS? I was told that I didn’t qualify for ultra which would be 5.29% but instead qualified for 6.29% (despite credit score 800+ and good income)

Not an issue as will look for other rates and reassess BMWFS rates as time goes on but curious if this is a real tier
